Glen Avon Lodge Boutique Hotel

The location and some facilities were good. However the lack of local tv news channels, no ironing equipment in room, an unimaginable breakfast menu and no facilities to entertain visitors, shrouded this stay in some disappointment.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was nice but not gourmet or as per pics on the website. Whenever you want anything you have to go to the reception and ring a bell and you can usually get what you need, however if you are at the pool that requires a walk across the car park to order a drink as no pool service. There is no bar as such and what drinks are available which is only at 7pm for half an hour, unless you go searching for the bell,is somewhat limited. Overall it was nice but not my idea of 5 star.

We were looking for somewhere new to stay in Cape Town and came across the Glen Avon Lodge. On arrival we had a lovely welcome from Ashley who accompanied us to our room on the first floor overlooking the garden and pool. The room was more than we expected and we were very happy with it as we were with our stay overall. We didn't eat in the restaurant as we had invites from other friends, but we did enjoy the excellent breakfast in the morning on the terrace and again we were well looked after by Ashley and Tobias. Checkout was fast and efficient and we had a good chat with the manager, Lisa, who was also very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back later this month.

Absolutely delightful - real gem and oasis of peace in busy Constantia The staff was very welcoming, thank you Ashley for greeting us We had a lovely room overlooking the garden and pool, air conditioning working like a charm, super fast internet as well Breakfast was really good too and the overall stay felt like being at home ! I got here at 11 pm and was welcomed by a lovely young Lady. The room however had a constant sound of like something was scraping.This went on allll night.The aircon stopped working after she came to see what the sound was and she put the heater off which did not help at all as the aircon stopped working and the sound went on. I could not get hold of her after this. Not sure how this hotel is marked 5star. The bathroom door gets stuck and does not not open properly. Very disappointing

I stayed recently for 4 nights while visiting Cape Town on business. The location is very conveniently situated in the Constantia valley, surrounded by plenty of Vineyards yet close access to the city and the coast on all sides. The shopping centres nearby cater for all needs, and there are plenty of local restaurants to enjoy. The room was very comfortable with luxury linens, and all the usual 5* amenities expected in a boutique hotel. Also a large screen streaming app tv. The full English breakfast was delicious accompanied by fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, toast, fresh juices and filter coffee. I didn't get chance to swim or sunbathe but there is a lovely private garden and heated pool for guest use. I hired a car on their recommendation with their local Hertz contact which worked really well. I also took walks around Strawberry Lane each day and felt very safe. A special thanks to all the staff, they are all very friendly and welcoming and ensured my stay was very pleasant indeed. I'll be back next visit. Thankyou
