AC Hotel Columbus Downtown, GA

I arrived at downtown Columbus to find a gem of a hotel in the AC. The arrival experience was great, you were hit with a wonderful aroma in the lobby and a warm smile from the desk. The room is well appointed, and sleek very straight lines and subtle touches. The temperature controls work easily and the bathroom amenities were very nice. At the bar staff are attentive and they have a nice selection of wine and spirits. The breakfast buffet offers a very European selection of meats cheeses and pastries. AC is not a place to go if you were looking for the standard American breakfast buffet of eggs and bacon. I strongly suggest the AC next time you are in downtown Columbus

Like some other reviewers have mentioned, beware of overcharges. #My original reservation was for 2 nights, however at the time of check in, I indicated that I would be staying for 1 night as I had a sudden business travel planned the next day. The front desk person said - sure making the changes . Next day I checked out at 10 am and dropped my keys at the front desk. However, the bill came for 2 nights. As a Titanium member, I have not seen this happen ever at a Marriott. This was not a No Show. When I called the front desk on seeing the overcharge, I was told that as per their records I stayed for two nights. I let them know that I have enough evidence that I was somewhere else the next day and actually staying in another hotel in Atlanta ! # Parking lot is half empty but everyone gets charged $15 parking. There is also an additional $5 convention and tourism fee added to your bill per day, even if you are neither on tourism or attending a convention . # The Marriott Columbus within walking distance does not charge any parking fee , though it hosts the largest number of business events and weddings in the city #The AC does not advance beyond 75F if you want your room heated on a cold day when you enter it. # Loyalty counts for nothing at this hotel - even if you are a Titanium member or with one of the major employers in this city. 2 8 oz waters only, no free breakfast. On the positive side, neat and clean property , and a good bar.

My wife and I stayed here while visiting our daughter at Auburn. We are platinum Elite Marriott members so we have stayed at a variety of Marriott brand hotels. This hotel is nice for the money. Keep in mind this is a lower tier hotel so no valet, no room service but it is a new hotel. Nice and clean, decent beds and good location. there are lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The front desk was very nice and helpful. The only c/o we had was nothing to do with the hotel. To get to the hotel from Auburn U, which is 35 miles away, you have to pass through Phenix City which is super sketchy. However, as soon as you cross the bridge into Columbus, it's like your are in a different world even though you are only couple hundred yards away.

Won’t be back ever. You know that feeling that corporate is out to gouge you for every nickel they can you don’t know the rule book like they do. We only clean every other day, no mention of the $15 parking fee when booking. That’s exactly how this hotel is run. Bye bye Marriott!

Stayed 5 nights recently. Have stayed 30+ nights at Marriott properties so far in 2023 and this was the worst of them all. If you are staying 2+ nights and want your room cleaned…just stop reading and find a different place to stay. Requested a day in advance for our room to be cleaned while we were out the next day. Front desk assured it would happen. Remember this would be day 3 of being in the room. No towels and overflowing trash. Got back to the room that day and it had not been touched. Had to call the front desk for towels. This happened twice during our stay. Trash was never emptied the entire stay! I messaged the Bonvoy app in addition to talking to the front desk. They said they would let management know. Never heard a word. Also upon checking in you usually get water or there is water in your room. Nothing. So I went down to the front desk to BUY a water. They said they did not have any. It was 95°+ that day with a Heat Advisory in effect and your hotel has no water for guests? Upon check out I mentioned the issues we had and the front desk person said “sorry to hear that, would you like the bill emailed to you”. The icing on the cake the hotel still has not credited my Bonvoy account for 2 of the nights stayed. Not sure if management is the issue but if you have a problem at this hotel you are left to deal with it yourself.
