Comfort Suites Columbia - University Area

Everything is great except the Wi-Fi it works for a while, then it completely drops. I would stay again. The front desk was great. I would recommend this location. The location is a little weird but ok. It’s close to a few good restaurants/fast food.

I got to my room May 9th 2004. I try to turn the tv on and it doesn't work. I call the front desk and the lady says that she will send somebody to check it. A few minutes go by and no one has shown up so I call again. She tells me that they know that the tv isn't working, and it will take a while to get another one. I asked could i change rooms woth a working tv. She asks if I had done anything in the room. I say no, I just sat on the edge og the bed and turned the tv on and it didnt work. She then tells me she can't give me another room, because i had sat on the foot of the bed. I never got a tv either.

The hotel appears to be undergoing renovations. It is totally unacceptable to arrive and see mattresses stacked to the ceiling in the lobby and construction materials taking up a large portion of the parking lot. When we got to the room, it was dirty (carpet, tub). There was an unfinished drywall patch behind the entry door and what appears to be damage caused to the bathroom door by someone's fist. Something that had been attached to the bathroom wall was removed and the leftover plate was simply painted over. Despite being told at the front desk that our rooms had new mattresses, upon inspection, it was clear they were not. The hotel should forewarn guests about the state of this property. Maybe once renovations complete, it might be better. You should note the hotel is right next to the interstate on-ramp so it is noisy on the highway side.

This motel is in renovation. I slept on the pullout couch and could feel the springs. The bathroom floor wasn't very clean - and we found a pair of kid's sunglasses on the floor. The lady running the breakfast bar was VERY unfriendly. The price was too high for what it was. It's not the worse I've stayed in, but it's also not the best.

Horrible hotel. Right off the highway so very loud. The bed had the biggest dip in the middle and I didn’t even want to get in it. The awning was falling apart. The hotel is getting an update and they had the lobby packed with new beds and other furniture. The price is astronomical for the shape of the place.

Read recent reviews! I saw the bad reviews but thought u can’t please everyone. They were being kind. The hotel has more issues than I can list. The hotel is between cemetery and noisy interstate. The hotel has construction every where. U can’t walk through the lobby due to boxes. The hotel has an odor like old tuna. Everything is dirty and old. The biggest complaint is a booked a suite. I got a standard room with two foot wall slapped up with a love a frat would not have squeezed in between two foot wall and corner. T.he beds were shoved against the wall u could not walk to bed u had get one side and climb over. I was not sure to laugh or cry. The pictures are website r not the hotel room on especially living area. I can’t believe comfort suites allows them to use their name If the furniture shoved in there is not fire hazard.

I booked online through a third party agent, and when I got to the hotel the desk clerk refused me access because I had a service dog. she said the hotel required that I show her papers for my service dog. her ignorance showed that she doesn't know that not all service dogs are licensed or certified and have paperwork, and the law states that it is illegal for anyone to ask to see paperwork. there's only two questions they can ask and that's "is that a service dog" and"what service does it provide". The front desk Clark did not ask me any of these questions, and she told me if I didn't leave her hotel she would call the police on me. I tried to show her on my phone where it is illegal to ask me those questions and to deny me access, but she refused to read anything about service animals and the American disabilities act. I called and talked to three different people and was transferred three different times on the phone trying to complain and get my money back, and every single person told me I had to show them a piece of paper which is against the law. they refuse to give me my money back and refuse to allow me a room at their hotel so I had to sleep out in the car with my dog in 45° weather. I am not required to show any proof that I have a service animal!!

STAY AWAY. Spend the extra money to stay somewhere else. I recently stayed at this hotel the weekend of 11/10/23 thru 11/12/23 for a Mizzou vs Tenn football game. This facility is independently owned as it has a sign that they proudly display. The first thing I noticed as I pulled into the parking lot is the asphalt is crumbling away across the entire parking lot and is in need of repair. Check in was uneventful and smooth, however when I arrived to my room I had booked a double queen room suite with a room divider and a pull out couch. The total price for the weekend was $515. Friday nights rate was $222 and Sat nights rate was $234. The room I was given was a small double queen room. Smaller than a normal queen room and they had just thrown in a chair that had a pull out twin bed. I had booked the larger room as I had 4 people in the room. I tried to talk with the clerk that checked us in and she told me I had booked an economy room. I showed her my reservation that read I had booked a double queen suite with a room divider and a sofa with a pullout couch. The clerk told me that none of the double queen suites had room dividers. If you look on the hotel website photos there is a picture of a double queen suite with a room divider. I asked to be switched to the room I had booked and was first told they only had the bigger room for Friday night but not Saturday night. Then the clerk came back and told me she did have the bigger room for both nights but that I would need to pay to be upgraded. The upgraded price would be $294 for Friday night and $354 for Sat night. This is outrageous. Bait and switch. Price gouging. I did not agree to pay an extra $192 to upgrade to the room I had already booked. As for the room and hotel itself, it is one of the filthiest hotels I have ever stayed in. The walls had paint peeling from them. The carpets were so dirty our socks turned black from walking on them. The hallways smelled. The bed headboard had an inch of dust on the top of it. The pillows were smaller than a standard pillow. Housekeeping was nonexistent. They did enter our room to empty the trash can, but our beds were not made. The furniture is old and is disrepair. The room looked nothing like the pictures on the website. I have stayed in many different Comfort Suites in several different cities, and have always had a suite with 2 queen beds with a room divider that has a sofa bed. Never have I ever seen a makeshift suite with a chair bed thrown in the corner. I certainly will never book at this hotel again, and I caution any traveler to do the same. I would give this hotel 0 stars.

Motel was clean. Staff was great. Guests seemed well behaved travelers and there were a number working professionals staying there. Area seemed safe. The bedding and towels were very clean and comfy. The motel seems a bit worn out: furniture, wallpaper. Needs a refresh. When we arrived the lobby smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. We did not notice this when we left the next day.
