Ballinalacken Castle Country House Hotel

We wanted to be closer to Cliffs of Moher so we could get an early start there in the morning and this was a wonderful hotel between Galway and the Cliffs. It is remote, but oh so worth it. Only about 30 mins from the Cliffs. It was originally a house built in the 1600s and then converted into a hotel with 16 guest rooms. It was beyond charming. Our room was comfortable with modern accommodations, but it was styled in the older period, appropriate for this location. The bed was comfortable; room was quiet. We had a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean from our room (in the distance) and could see the southern end of the Cliffs of Moher from the property. It is up on a hill so there isn't much to block your view. It is very peaceful here. If you need to relax, you sure can here. We were there on the last Tuesday of the month when they do a special 7 course dinner paired with different wines. We are not huge foodies or drink wine. But this was a lot of fun and a great way to try something new. We tried everything. The food was very good. We could tell that others really enjoyed the wines as well. We just aren't wine drinkers. The owners really care that the guests have a a nice stay and we did. This is a place I would certainly return to if I am back in this area.

Our room at Ballinalacken Castle was beautiful, spacious, and had an amazing view of an outdoor space with the castle behind it! It is a great location for seeing the Burren and Cliffs. The hotel has a charming bar and restaurant area, and our food was delicious. On our next trip to Ireland, we hope to stay longer at this hotel.

This hotel was excellent. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. Our room had a fourposter bed and views of the sea out of the windows. The food in the restaurant was good and of a high quality, we were happy to have dinner there nearly every evening .

We stayed in this gem to celebrate our 40 th year together, we were there for the 8 course tasting menu with wine pairings. Once we came over the door until we left it was absolutely fabulous, we got upgraded to the honey room suite, which was beautiful. The food was superb and fabulous wine to balance each dish. Highly recommend, it is so peaceful and Scranton here, it oozes old world charm with amazing rooms to relax in, dinning for breakfast was great, fresh produce and excellent freshly cooked full Irish.well done and we will certainly be back again.

Ballinalacken Castle Country House is special. From the moment you arrive, you are made to feel welcome. The staff truly go above and beyond to make you feel at home. The room was more than just a standard guest room—it felt like a well-designed suite, complete with a separate living area that added a whole new level of comfort and convenience. Both dinner and breakfast the next morning were sublime. Do not hesitate to book this place, you won't be disappointed

Such a lovely stay! The hotel itself beautiful, cosy and very welcoming. Our room was very spacious and had a breathtaking view from every window. Food was delicious, people are very nice , kind and helpful. Very convenient location . The castle tour - was really impressive - loved it. Thanks a lot to the hotel, for surprisingly upgrading our room upon arrival .”Honeymoon suite” - was beautiful! We can’t wait to come back and will definitely recommend this beautiful hotel to our friends and family.
