The only good point about this villa is its location: the remainder leaves much to be desired. It is advertised as sleeping up to six people. However, we travelled as a family of five and found it to be inadequate. Kitchen: Lack of power sockets, eg, kettle and toaster could not be in use simultaneously as only one socket. Only a two-slice toaster - insufficient for 6 people. Cooker hob and oven could not be in use simultaneously as electricity supply for the whole villa would cut off. Constant infestation of ants in kitchen. Top shelving in wall cupboards could not be reached, but no stepstool provided. Lack of basic kitchen utensils. Dishwasher in situ, but no basic supply of tablets. Notice on kitchen wall regarding rubbish disposal was inaccurate. The threat of a fine if guests leave any rubbish in the villa on vacating, results in wastage of kitchen basics, eg, salt, pepper, oil etc. Shower in en suite is too small. Shower in other bathroom did not work. We had to use the outdoor shower and on one occasion, when the shower was being used by a 7 year old, a dying rat was spotted in the grass alongside, which we had to kill to put it out of its misery, as it showed signs of having been poisoned. Uncomfortable to cook in kitchen as no air conditioning in there. Air conditioning only available in the three bedrooms. Temperature of these units set at 23 degrees but could not be lowered. It is acknowledged that mosquitoes are prevalent at the villa, but not being able to adjust the air con does not help! No suitcase racks provided in bedrooms. Safety deposit box out of order, so we had to keep passports, valuables with us when going out. Double bed is a small one. On arrival it was discovered that the mattress protector on that bed was in a disgusting state and had to be laundered (by ourselves), along with the sheets. Living room sofas would not seat six people. Swimming pool: We arrived on a Saturday and spent the afternoon in the pool. It was only when we got out of the pool we noticed that everyone was green. This was reported to Tui immediately, who, in turn, said the matter would be reported to the villa company. It was not until the following Tuesday that a man appeared to supposedly check the chemicals of the pool. He was shown some of the very discoloured (green) swimwear. Due to a language barrier, it was difficult to make him comprehend. Two days following this , Tui contacted us to check on the pool situation, which we told them had not improved. They then arranged for a “deep clean”, which did not happen. Instead a second, partly English speaking, pool man arrived the following day. Having tested the water he told us that there was ZERO chlorine in the pool. Following further tests, he added chemicals to the pool and told us not to swim in it for at least two hours, meaning that we were now on day five of being unable to go into the pool. In general, the entire villa looks tired and grubby. The level of cl
