The Squirrels Nest is a quaint, historic log cabin overlooking the James River in Buchanan, Virginia. It is available as a vacation rental with a two (2) night minimum stay. There are three bedrooms and two baths and can accommodate up to six (6) guests. Bedroom 1 has a double bed, Bedroom 2 has a queen bed and Bedroom 3 has two twin beds. The Kitchen is fully equipped and there is a large flat screen TV in the living room. Covered picnic area at the rear of the property overlooking the river and Town of Buchanan. The Squirrels Nest is located near many local attractions that are within walking distance such as Antiques shopping, the swinging bridge, fishing, canoeing, tubing and kayaking on the James River. Other attractions not too far away include The Natural Bridge, Safari Park, and Zoo. The Blue Ridge Parkway, Appalachian Trail and numerous hiking or biking trails. The "bunkhouse" behind the cottage for additional sleep/play space is finally getting the remodel it needed for updated electric and full over twin bunkbed. We will be finishing the painting and furniture by Spring 2026, if not sooner. The bunkhouse will have it's own TV, small fridge, microwave and room heater/ac unit. We still have other projects to the surrounding buildings and acres to finish in between bookings.
