Wunderschöne Umgebung sehr verwinkel auf schlechten Staßen. Tom der Gastgeber war sehr freundlich und aufmersam. Die Sauberkeit ließ zu wünschen über.⁷ķaufmersam seinen Gästen gegenüber

I'm a pulmonary & critical care physician in Florida, USA. I have lived in many different countries and traveled to more than 40 different countries on 6 different continents. I love nature, healthy living, good-hearted people and delicious food. My week at Naniki cottages under the guidance of my friend and mentor Tom (the owner), has changed my outlook at life. This place is a piece of paradise. No mosquitoes, nothing poisonous or harmful on the island, right next to the best surfing in the Caribbean (the soup bowl) and overall a therapeutic retreat. That mountain in St. Joseph is ranked 3rd in the world in longevity; most people live to 100 years old. I will be going back again and again as I intend to purchase a plot of land in the area to build my dream vacation home for my family one day.

The property is dated, needs to be freshened up top to bottom. It is on the fringe of a wooded area nice and quite. The 1 big complaint is that the property owner did not advise us that we were the only visitors to be there most of the time so there would be no food service available, so we had to cook every meal for ourselves. So that meant going to the grocery stores and buying supplies. Not what we had in mind for a relaxing 14 day stay.
The cleaning lady was fantastic she did a great job of making our stay a little more tolerable.

A serene spot overlooking the Atlantic, it was everything that we hoped it to be. Tom is a wonderful host just wished we had stayed longer. A beautiful area of Barbados that everyone should visit at least once in their life

You woke up in tranquility and the accommodation was very comfortable. The proprietor Mr. Hinds was amazing and knowledgeable.

Tom is great, he owns the property and is very hands on and helpful with knowledge about Barbados and where to go. He knows who can help and just overall very hospitable. 10 for 10 recommend, especially since the location is unlike anything else on the island.

Naniki offers a window onto the real Barbados, surrounded as it is by rural Bajan villages, rolling hills and stunning rain forest. The basic cottages are charming and offer wonderful views across the island. They have everything you need for a comfortable stay: hot water, clean linen, a simple kitchenette and wide veranda from which to watch the monkeys and listen to the singing frogs in the evening. Tom, the owner, is very hands on and fabulous to talk to about everything from jazz music to Caribbean history to local flora and fauna. In fact, a morning hike with him into the forest is highly recommended! We'd highly recommend having your own transport since the lodge is off the beaten track and the restaurant isn't open in the evenings. Lovely Bathsheba, though, is a short drive away.

Unfortunately we had to cancel our stay due to Covid restrictions. Cancellation was in the fully refundable time but am still awaiting refund. Multiple emails sent to the property owner - zero response. 3 months after cancelling. Am visiting Barbados soon(at another property) so will go in person.
