I am the world's lightest sleeper and can hear a snail break wind half a mile away. HOWEVER, this hotel has excellent window soundproofing that blocks out the noise from the main road that it's on. No bathroom fan comes on when you switch on the bathroom light. You can switch on and off the air conditioning yourself and its noise will then stop within a minute or so and did NOT automatically turn itself back on in the night, hurrah! Without Aircon, the room temperature reached 22 degrees Celsius. It had been a hot day. BUT as I say, I am a very light sleeper and could hear a distant humming (probably aircon from the room upstairs/next door) so I used my trusty sponge earplugs. If you are a normal person, you probably won't notice this. I had a standard room that I paid for straight away when I booked at £114 for a summer Saturday night. Huge room with double bed, little round table with two padded chairs, just a little shelf on each side of the bed (a bit tiny), hairdryer The shower was challenging: could only get water from the fixed overhead nozzle, not the moveable nozzle. There is shower gel and hand gel but no solid bars of soap. Kettle, and you can help yourself to extra milk/tea/coffee from reception. I didn't use TV. I covered its red glowing dot with a postage stamp so it wouldn't keep me awake. There's a fire/smoke detector over the bed but no glowing dot. Friendly reception staff but, Premier Inn HQ, surely you can afford to expand your workforce? Reception desk has a buzzer for attention if no-one is there. They seemed stretched but were helpful and poised.
