Dogs welcome with required pet fee. Doggie door with fenced yard. Enjoy fun filled lake days and fire pit evenings. Lake view during Winter/Spring stays. The cabin is approximately 700 square feet and includes a full eat-in kitchen, private bathroom and combination living and bedroom area. This hand crafted cabin is full of rustic character and charm created by craftsman Bob Cawthorne, a carpenter and Navy veteran, with a dream of building his ‘Cabin In The Woods.’ Enjoy the serene escape he created! Carlisle Cove lake access only 2.7 miles away. The Deck and Cookson Marina 4.6 miles and Sixshooter Marina 7.3 miles. Illinois River floating approximately 30 miles.About pets:Pets allowed: dogs less than 50 lbs per pet (limit 2 pets total).Include pet fee on reservation. No Pit Bulls..About checkOut:Check out before 11:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.Cabin is situated on a slope. It was rustic, but nice. House was very well stocked with anything you might need. The cabin was very quiet and secluded. Very close to the lake and the town of Cookson. We will stay there again.

Location was so pretty and quiet. The cabin was great and offered everything we needed. We were impressed with the cleanliness. Enjoyed watching hummingbirds and our morning visits with Tiki, one of the sweetest dogs I've ever met. I'd definitely recommend to anyone needing a break!

Anniversary Getaway Our daughter and her family are temporarily living with us including their 3 dogs, 2 cats (one a kitten), a turtle named Shelly and a fish named Blue. Needless to say, our house is constant noise & activity. We just recently passed our 43rd wedding anniversary and needed a getaway. This house was a blessing in so many ways. It was clean, nice and cool, had everything we needed, and we even met a new friend (yellow lab). My husband loved the antiques displayed and the beauty of the cabin and the way it was built. We loved the cabin so much, we wanted to extend our stay but could not due to it already being booked. Thx to our hosts for their hospitality. We will definitely go back.

The cabin was lovely and well stocked to meet our needs. We were a little put off by all the LED lights at night - especially right next to the bed. Not sure anything can be done about that, though. We live on a farm and enjoy darkness at night . Other than that we truly enjoyed our stay. Thank you!!

Comfortable rustic getaway A historically rustic cabin with modern amenities that make it very comfortable. Cozy but not cramped…well appointed to make it a safe, accessible and a very enjoyable venue. Conveniently located to the lake and town but, as the name implies, tucked remotely in the woods.
