All nice & clean, staff very helpful & friendly towards us. Breakfast was really good & my wife is a vegetarian so we asked for none bacon & veg sausage etc & they were very accommodating, very good location a short walk into Chelmsford city centre with all the bar’s & restaurants, plus the bar at the hotel was also good. We have stayed here a few times & never had a bad stay to date for sure 👍🏼

4 gripes about this hotel. First, the loo seat had not been cleaned properly. Secondly, the mugs supplied for tea had been wiped with a very dirty cloth and had to be washed before we could use them. Thirdly, only one bath towel supplied and the member of staff at reception gave off the impression that it was inconvenient to fetch another towel but the most gross and disgusting gripe was we discovered fresh human bodily fluids on the mattress protector from a previous guest. This was most disturbing and we were reluctant to actual sleep on this mattress.

Such lovely staff who really take care of you and are so friendly, really yummy food too! Staff have great customer service and hospitality! Nice comfy beds too.

Our room air condition did not work. Windows do not open the whole room is sealed. The heat was unbearable. They brought us too big fans, but all they did was circulate hot air around the room. I spend all evening in reception as it was cooler! Can sleep in the room. Had to have a cold shower and not dry to cope for a while. Terrible experience!!

No competition - for value of food, bedroom comfort, staff friendliness and overall quality. I was impressed from beginning to end. The best part of all was the meal deal offer where you could order a breakfast and anything off the dinner men and a drink for £27. It's the best!!

Check-in and check-out were sleek. The room was large, and the bed was comfortable. A tea and coffee maker was present. However, the Shower gel was diluted with water. The hotel is close to the train and bus stations, TESCO and Coop are walkable about 2 to 5 minutes. The free internet is unreliable and pathetically slow. It will ask you to pay for a faster speed.

A horrible self check in system, no toilet roll in the room, heating wouldn't go below 20 degrees when the outside temp was 25 making the room hot and muggy ( you couldn't open windows on the 3rd floor) when asking for it to be turned down made to feel like I was asking for the impossible. Downstairs entrance looks like an abandoned office block. I stay in Premier Inns on a regular basis for work and have always had a friendly welcome at reception but unfortunately this one is totally different to all the others around the country I have used.
