Hotel was okay, although offering a good breakfast, is situated a bit far from key attractions, which may inconvenience some guests. Additionally, the lack of complimentary water, the need to pay for extras, and the absence of air conditioning in the room were notable drawbacks.
Guests may find the Dyson air purifier provided helpful in managing the warm temperatures, though the overall heat in the room could be uncomfortable. While the breakfast was a positive aspect, improvements in amenities and location proximity could enhance the hotel experience at The Ship Hotel.

My friend and I stayed for one night after a drive from Dorset, where we went on a Call the Midwife tour at the historical dockyard. The rooms are above their very nice bar and restaurant. We were met with a lovely and warm welcome. We had booked a twin room which was warm, very comfortable and spacious. Exceptionally clean, and a good range of teas with a coffee machine with a range of pods. Comfortable beds and pillows. The shower was lovely. Being above the busy bar on a Friday night, didn't disturb us at all. Very quiet. Excellent soundproofing. We had breakfast downstairs, and again, this was exceptional, with all staff making sure we were OK and had everything we needed. Overall, this place is a little gem, affordable, great food, great ambience with fantastic staff. Well done to all

We were a group of ex- Navy veterans returning to the historic dockyard and former naval trading establishment where we had previously served forty years earlier. We chose to stay at the Ship & Trades purely because of its excellent location and were not disappointed. The rooms are excellent, being quiet and well appointed, and the bar and restaurant are pleasantly situated by the picturesque marina. Parking is plentiful and free for residents. We were all delighted with the quality of our evening meals, which were not haut cuisine but beautifully cooked and presented, absolutely delicious and reasonable value. Drinks were similarly of excellent quality and reasonably priced. Breakfast was again an excellent mix of choices for both the healthy and enthusiastic foodies in our group. All staff were "smiley", helpful and keen to be of assistance.

Stayed here on Sunday evening while attending a party nearby. Lovely hotel. Beautiful view. Pleasant room. Lovely breakfast on the sun the next morning served by an extremely courteous and pleasant young guy who was apparently working his first breakfast shift - very efficiently! Recommend and would stay again.

We visit the Ship & Trades as a stopover each year on our way home from France. It’s a quirky old building which has been thoughtfully refurbished and fitted out. Bedrooms are very nicely decorated and furnished and have very comfortable beds. Bedrooms and Bathrooms were spotlessly clean. Car Park can be busy from nearby retail facilities during the day but there is always enough spaces.

I stayed at the Ship & Trades for two nights with my mother. We shared a very comfortable double room with a lovely view of the marina. Everything was spotlessly clean and the room had everything we needed. Staff were friendly and helpful, and we felt very welcome. The pub and restaurant downstairs had some of the best food and drink in the area. Everything was perfect, and even though the occasion for our visit was sad (a funeral), we had a lovely time. We would definitely stay at the Shp & Trades again.

This is a quirky hotel, with free car parking in front of the hotel when staying in the hotel. It is conveniently located near Chatham Dockyards and we walked to Dockside Park. Our room was large and comfortable with a large modern bathroom. Wonderful view of the harbour with a good walk alongside

love this place,,, 2nd time staying here, small hotel, just 22 rooms. Right on the dockside with views over the marina & Dockside shopping with its great selection of bars & restaurant's. Rooms are modern, clean & comfortable. The restaurant serves great food in a lovely setting, the breakfast is amazing, not the usual buffet style but has table service & everything is cooked to order. Nice bar serving a good range of drinks & an outside seating area next to the dock. The staff are all very helpful, polite & cheerful. All in all its just a nice place to stay & will definitely be using next time we are in Medway. Thanks Ship & Trades for a wonderful stay.
