This place was absolutely horrendous. The room was small and the bed was like sleeping on a lump of concrete with pillows that were equally hard. I ordered room service for my evening meal and ended up spending almost the entire night in the toilet. When booking I asked if there was enough space to set up my laptop, printer and paperwork but unfortunately even though I was told the room was spacious, it was like trying to work off a matchbox. There was not enough room on the unstable table to have my laptop and printer. There was a gap where the unit door didn't even seal and cold air streamed into the room all night as well as the smell of wood fired heaters. This is not the place for anyone on a business trip. It was absolutely awful and the executive room was nothing more than a one star matchbox. SHAME ON YOU CHARLEVILLE MOTEL !!!!

We travelled approx 9 hours on the road and just wanted a comfy clean place to stay. Instead we got the Charleville Motel. The staff were friendly however the only thing I could recommend was the family sized pizza from Menzies Restaurant. The room was: - so dirty there were dust bunnies and hair around the edges of the room - the carpet was badly soiled - room in general disrepair including old noisy fridge, aircon and botched repair attempts evident throughout - there was a thick layer of scum and hair in the bathroom and again dodgy repairs - the room housed a multitude of mosquitos (!!!) - there was not even soap provided in the bathroom - the glasses in the room were dirty - the wireless internet was so slow you may as well have not bothered And the icing on the cake was the fact that the bed linen was dirty - rumpled, stained and hair on the sheets and pillows - as if USED and then the bed just remade!!! We spent the night huddled on top of the (also dirty) bed covers. When we finally decided it was no use trying to sleep anymore we got up - however the power had gone out and we were left fumbling with a torch and unable to have a shower as the water system was hooked up to the power. This was a horrible experience which left us ruined for our journey the next day. We chose this motel via the Jasons Accommodation Guide (pictures and description) and rating of 3.5 stars. NEVER AGAIN - we have since been doing our own extensive research on the internet before we book and show-up road-weary and just needing somewhere decent to stay.

I booked this motel over the internet from the available pictures and location indicated. The reception area is very nice and the pictures of "Menzie's Bar" and the restaurant looked good. Boy, what a place this is! We were met at reception by a lady called Lorraine, she was very nice and I asked to see the room first as I sometimes do if I'm not sure. I must admit the rooms looked rather worn out from the outside, dirty doors and it had an unkempt look about it. Unit #3. 1 x queen bed sagging languidly in the room and a set of very cheap bunk beds with very thin matresses. Soiled, and I mean soiled, carpet and a bathroom that made some old roadhouse toilets look glamourous. This won't do, back to reception. Unit # 29. Similar old saggy queen bed and a small single bed, both decorated with coverings that hadn't seem a washing machine in a long time. Same soiled carpet, old box type air conditioner in the wall which had seen better days. The bathroom was an absolute gem....the shower curtain started off black at the bottom and gradually rose to something resembling what it may have been like once upon a time. The rancid odour of mildew and dampness was overwhelming! Took me three goes to park my car in the ridiculously tight parking space. I took the keys back to reception and informed Lorraine that I would find another motel and this was met by astonishing indifference. I will be pursuing this matter through the local council/tourism authorities. NO ONE should stay here.....absolutely disgusting!

had an incredibly disappointing experience at this motel. From the start, things were off. The room was far from clean, with mould in the shower grout, dusty surfaces, and noticeable marks on the walls. Not exactly a welcoming environment. To make matters worse, we were constantly asked to move our car, despite there being no allocated parking spots. This was highly inconvenient and unnecessary. The treatment from the staff was shocking – we were rudely reprimanded for having visitors, despite the fact they were my children, simply there to help us prepare for a funeral. The receptionist was particularly unpleasant when I tried to clarify that we had two adults per room, not one as the booking system had incorrectly allocated. Before I could even explain that we also had two small children with us, I was grunted at and met with rude attitude. We were also scolded for a minor mess outside the room (just a few crumbs) while the children ate a quick snack. No actual rubbish was left behind, yet the reaction was completely over the top. Overall, the staff’s lack of empathy and poor service, coupled with the subpar cleanliness of the rooms, made our stay extremely uncomfortable. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
