Antica Canea Luxury Rooms

This was a rare treat - an elegant and well-appointed small guesthouse with all the warmth of “ old Chania” As someone travelling with a partner with limited mobility, it’s wonderful to have the chance to interact beforehand and feel your concerns are understood. Here there are three rooms on the ground floor - and although I’m not sure they would allow wheelchair access - they were perfect for someone with difficulty walking. The hotel is also very accessible by taxi - my husband has to walk less than 20 metres from the taxi to the door. Micheles is also a kind and thoughtful host.

We have been here for three days, specially to use for point to do excursions to Balos, Gramvousa and Elafonissi beach. The place is nice. You have parking but only two spots, so book in advance. Anyways, you can park the car on the street. We stayed in Attic Room so we have to use upstairs (very high ones) and go to the second floor. The place have a small pool to refresh yourself, maps, umbrellas to use in the beach, and in the last floor, a terrace for dry your shirts or whatever and use the common terrace area. The room is tinny, but the bed is the most comfortable during my Crete trip. The condition air works fine and you have also a fridge to keep your water cold. The bathroom was very small, and not enough pressure of cold water. This was solved by Michele, the owner of the place. He is very kind, helpful. He helped us to bring down our heavy luggage (I recommend use small suitcases in this country, not so many elevators), to park our car and also resolved the water pressure issue. He also recommended to us places to have breakfast, dinner, lunch. He is one of the best things of the place. A gift to have in mind because it helps to have a more confortable stay. The location of the place is perfect to move around and visit the port, old town and the beautiful areas in Chania. Chania is the most beautiful town of Crete, so I would recommend to stay here.

We are a family of 4 from London with 2 grown up kids . We spent a fantastic week with wonderful hosts Michele and Roula. The small hotel is tastefully decorated with an eclectic mix of modern minimalist design while still retaining original features of the old building . It is perfectly located in the old town a few minutes walk from the beautiful Venetian harbour with its numerous waterside restaurants and bars. The rooms were immaculately clean. The owner Roula personally cleans the rooms and she told me she feels better making sure everything is perfect so insists on doing it herself. It’s that sort of place a real home from home. We took Michele’s advice in best restaurants and weren’t disappointed. Michalis down in the old harbour was our favourite . Great fish and seafood and with a perfectly drinkable house white at €12 a litre carafe. Throumbi in the town was a good second specialising in meat dishes. Both gave us complimentary desserts and Raki shots which was a lovely touch. All in all we had a great relaxing break and would love to return. Thank again Michele and Roula for being such great hosts.

Beautiful rooms are very comfortable, easy access to the port and old town. Plunge pool and attic deck definitely got regular use. Access to upper rooms is by staircase so bringing a large suitcase would be a tight squeeze. Very comfy beds, coffee machine, jug, fridge, safe in the room.

This place is a real gem. Great location and rooms are of an excellent standard. The owners go out of their way to ensure everything is provided to ensure their guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Good communication and organised check-in. Rooms are spacious, clean, and secure with lovely comfortable beds good bathrooms and efficient aircon. Everything you need for lovely holiday.

Pulizia e Cordialità sono i punti di forza. Da aggiungere alla posizione ed anche L parcheggio disponibile prenotandolo permette di fare una vacanza a Chania ricca di comfort e sicurezze. I titolari vi aiuteranno in tutti i modi, Michele parla più lingue e quindi sarà più facile comunicarvi. Da provare anche perché ristrutturato da poco nel modo più consono alla zona in cui si trova. Ci torneremo appena potremo.
