All the modern conveniences in a rural setting.The cabin is a traditional full dovetail Appalachian cabin constructed of white pine. The cabin is around 600 ft.² with a full bathroom, full kitchen/dining area, loft bedroom area. The structure has a covered vaulted front porch and rear porch. There are many amenities to make the guest feel more at home Including towels, linens for the beds, soap/shampoo, cooking utensils, pots/pans and anything else you would need for cooking a good meal. We have a Weber kettle grill on the back porch for grilling out as well. In addition, we provide complementary coffee and a bundle of firewood for the outdoor pit.The cabin is located in a beautiful spot at approximately 4000 feet elevation. Due to the elevation, temperatures are typically much cooler than the surrounding areas. It is recommended to bring a jacket even in the warmer months. Due to the close proximity to Grayson Highlands State Park, you may occasionally see a wild pony wondering to the property. There’s bountiful wildlife around the property including deer, turkey, many bird species and the occasional bear.The road to the cabin is a state maintained gravel road. Although a 2wd car/truck will work fine, we recommend a 4wd if possible due to the steep nature of the road.
