Hiking, fishing, skiing are only minutes away!The Space:*** In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, we want to assure our guests of our extremely thorough cleaning regiment. All frequently touched surfaces (counters, doorknobs, switches, handles, toilets, remotes, etc) are cleaned with an EPA registered disinfectant and all linens/towels are washed in hot water.***Carefully curated and thoughtfully designed, this little cabin is decorated with art and furniture from local artisans. The cabin has an open floor plan with an extra cozy sleeping loft equipped with a queen sized bed, comfy reading chair and a TV for watching movies. The living room has a comfortable plush sofa and perfect views while lounging by the wood-burning stove. The kitchenette offers you everything you need to dine-in — an electric oven/range, toaster, and coffee maker. The outside space features a large outdoor fire pit with beautiful views of the forest and ZigZag mountain.For groups with three guests -- additional linens, pillows and blankets will be provided upon request for the sofa (not a pull-out, but comfy to sleep on -- great option for those traveling with children). Also, in the summer months, there is plenty of room to pitch a tent outdoors.***Please note -- The drive up from the road to the cabin is steep. You WILL need an AWD or 4WD to get to the top in a vehicle (we have a VW Tiguan and make it up fine). If you have a 2WD car, there will be a cargo sled to haul your belongings up the hill. Brand-new remodel, this wood cabin has all original bones with modern updates. 2500 square feet, we have 4 queen beds, a bunk bed with a trundle, sleep 12!Perfectly located, we're 15 minutes from Mt. Hood, 45 minutes from PDX Airport, with many high-quality restaurants nearby.Please be aware of a recent unexpected event at the property. During a storm, an 80–100 year old Douglas fir tree fell onto the back porch, damaging both the porch and the hot tub.For guest safety, the back deck and hot tub are currently unavailable while repairs are being planned. This terrific two-story home sits on the edge of Rhododendron and Brightwood and is conveniently located near many outdoor recreation options in the area.The spaceThe cabin sleeps up to six people comfortably and includes an updated, well-equipped kitchen. Our living room is the perfect relaxation and entertainment hub, featuring a 60-inch smart TV and a vintage turntable and receiver (with Bluetooth capability) with a stash of great records (bring your own if you want!). Upstairs, you’ll find the main bedroom with a queen bed, reading nook, balcony access and a desk for the work-from-home crowd. There is also a quaint bathroom and a bunkroom that features a single and full bed. Downstairs, there is plenty of space to hang your outdoor recreation gear to dry in the hallway, and you’ll find the third bedroom with a queen bed and nearby bathroom with shower. The living space is extended outside, featuring a deck with an outdoor table and BBQ grill just off the dining room, and a perfect space out back with ample outdoor seating and a gas fire pit to wind down your evening.Guest accessThe cabin is a standalone home that you’ll have to yourself. It is located in the Timberline Rim community, a neighborhood of homes primarily occupied by full-time residents and some nightly rentals. There are neighbors to each side of the cabin, with a street-facing front. There’s not a great deal of traffic, but traffic is audible at times. Our home offers ample free parking and a convenient horseshoe driveway for easy access, in and out.Other things to noteCentrally located in the Mount Hood Corridor, we are in close proximity to a wide variety of area outdoor attractions, and our home is a great place to relax after a day of activities and exploring. There are ample options for groceries and food in the area, including stores in Rhododendron, Brightwood and nearby Sandy.
