We just spent a week at the hotel let’s start with the positives; Rooms are very big and those with ocean view have a beautiful view of the coast and pool areas. The breakfast has a lot of variety and one of the pools is heated Now with the not so positives; Staff - The staff attentiveness was terrible; they would spend most of the time on their phones or chatting with the other staff. Generally at breakfast or the pool restaurant there were more staff than guests, and even then orders came wrong and wait times were unacceptable (drinks would take 15min - so we decided we would just walk to the bar and order having the whole transaction done in 2-3min). Several times during breakfast we had to go get our own napkins, our own tea refill and ask for spoons since the staff wasn’t bothered. The front desk or concierge is rarely if ever manned. You would walk by and if there was anyone would not be acknowledged. I have received better treatment from staff at Courtyard or Moxy than here. Again most of what we saw was staff on their phones, constantly. Loyalty treatment - We are Bonvoy Titanium and had requested an upgrade; magically two days before arrival all higher category rooms became unavailable. As soon as we arrived higher category rooms and suites were available. They were adamant the hotel was 100% booked (a blatant lie as we discovered walking around all the empty restaurant, beach, pool area, lobby etc. After some arguing and showing them the availability on the Bonvoy website, with a lot of time wasted back and forth they said because we utilized points they wouldn’t upgrade us. Pretty poor experience. Food - To the contrary to what any website says, there is only one restaurant on site open for Breakfast (Safran), and one for lunch and dinner (Oasis). After 11AM only the Oasis offers food options, they are all poor quality and expensive. We ended up walking into Cesme every day to have some decently priced and delicious food. Pool - Just a small point to add but only one of the pools was semi-heated. The other one was freezing. In addition the last chlorine/ph check had been made in July - so we just overall avoided the pools! Overall this is not a luxury experience and while the hotel and rooms are beautiful, the staff and food options let this hotel terribly down. Suggest finding a better location for your next holiday until they do much needed improvements to the customer touch points at this property.
