There is no way that Grand Thamrin is a 3* hotel. Poor service at front desk. A couple didn’t even bother to look up and I had to ask if it was the reception area. Only one card key provided, so neither my friend or I could go out separately as card was needed to operate the lift. Very sparse supplies. Only two bath towels, no hand towels and no hair dryer. Small roll of one ply toilet paper and we were rationed just one roll. Room was cramped. Noisy as we were on the first floor and faced a main road. No double glazing and wafer thin walls. Aircon malfunctioned and handyman spent 40 minutes fixing it.
Really misleading to advertise “breakfast” as it’s only a box meal. Even more disconcerting was loads of notices advising people not to stain linen or face a penalty. Also, notice to turn off shower during soaping so as not to flood the bathroom.
Only saving grace was its opposite huge malls and there was an excellent male housekeeper.
Definitely would not recommend this place.
