When I arrived at 1:30 in the morning for my reservation I booked 2 weeks ago, I was informed by the manager, Nico, ( after she finally came to the desk) that my room was 1 of 5 that had been canceled because they overbooked. I asked why no one called me and she said that “the girl who worked earlier was supposed to but she got busy”. I asked why they still charged me (it will be interesting to see if that falls off my CC or if I have or battle that too) It was a very busy weekend in Austin, and prices were high everywhere, which is why I booked as early as I did and where I did. She gave zero f*cks that she was letting me know at 1:30 am I had no hotel for the weekend. The couple who arrived after me at 1:30 in the morning got a room just fine. Luckily, Embassy Suites had a room available and the guy felt bad about the sh*tty spot La Quinta put me in, he gave me a deal on a room in a significantly better hotel.
