Beach Front Motel Cedar Key

Run down is putting it mildly. This is an expensive dump. Our room took till 3 in morning to cool down. Linoleum peeling up in the bathroom. Outside appearance shows decades of neglect. The view is the only reason it gets a 1. I've stayed in nicer places when I was 20 years old with no money. I'm 63 and I would advise anyone to stay somewhere else.

Perfect location, everything else was disappointing, The room never got prepared for my reservation, after waiting several hours I took sheets and rowels from the laundry room and made my own bed. Trash.linens and towels from previous occupant never removed over the 2 days I stayed. Never got even warm water to shower,, The views from the second floor can't be matched, the rooms are large, beds are comfortable. Hope this property gets the help it needs.

This place is no frills and needs updating but it was super clean, the location is wonderful and the staff there was super friendly and very hard working. I would recommend certainly recommend this place.

This was the craziest reservation and experience we have ever had!! We arrived at 3:30pm, check-in was at 3pm. We calmly waited in the office for 30 minutes and saw no one except for a housekeeper in the parking lot, who informed us that she was just the housekeeper. We decided to try calling the office number, at first no one answered. Then I tried again, a lady impatiently answered, I could hear her fine and she said she couldn’t hear me but she was continually telling me that they had no rooms available, I said I have a reservation so then she said well it’s not ready and I am busy with it, I said well when will it be ready? She said I don’t know yet and I said I am busy and she hung up on me. We leave and come back an hour later and then we wait some more, A person that had apparently walked up was placed in a room, okay. The lady we see is the one that answered the phone when I called and hung up on me. I don’t let it bother me because I just want the room, she says our room will be ready in a minute, one hour later it’s ready but it’s still needs to be mopped. We also have a dinner reservation to get to by this time so we just drop everything in the room because itz6:39 by now. We really didn’t examine it well. We got back at 9:30 and pulled the sheets back and noticed that they are wrinkled and they smell. Nope they didn’t change them at all. No help from the office or housekeeper now… worst ever !! And by the way the pool had green algae growing in it also.

What a dump! There is no beach as the name implies. Don’t sign the electronic signature pad BEFORE reading what you are signing. We reserved 3 nights but needed to leave after 2. The bill highlighted NO refunds for leaving early FOR ANY REASON with the electronic signature transferred onto it. Place was dirty with no amenities. Cedar key wonderful but stay elsewhere

Room 206 perfect views for sunrise and sunsets...very large king room...our room was very clean and fresh smelling with a nice bed... the pool was great...old Florida charm about it...it's not fancy...but people come to this location to watch the sunset best view on the key...not a big chain motel if you're looking for that stuff this place or cedar key is probably not for you...they have no franchises on the keys...
