Hotel Gresi

I made my reservation for 3 nights via *********** and as such paid for the room a few days before arrival and received confirmation the payment was successful. When I arrived, I discovered they don’t speak a word of English, which is fine being in Italy, however they refused to check me in because they were adamant I hadn’t paid. I used google translate, showed them email confirmation AND the money coming out of my account and they still wanted to pay another €140. After I refused to pay, the man told me to sit and wait, at which point I called through to *********** to try and get help. They tried to call the hotel to sort it out for me 3 times and all 3 times, the man hung up on them. After about 40 mins, another man turned up, turned on the computer, and immediately confirmed he could see I had paid and showed me to a room. (The first man never touched the computer to check). When I got to the room had no windows, was dirty, dated and the plug socket cover was hanging off the wall. It was so dreadful looking and the original man was so nasty that I chose not to stay and walked back out again, cancelling the reservation. There are much nicer hotels in the same area for a little more and they are so much more welcoming than this place. Don’t put yourself through the stress staying here!

La posizione è super centrale, nel cuore di via Etnea, l'hotel si trova in un palazzo d'epoca. Le camere sono gigante e molto belle, pulite e spaziose. Il personale è gentilissimo e super disponibile. Non manca niente

Very conveniently located. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff is helpful and very friendly. Breakfast is good and offers a fair variety of sweet and unsweetened options. Because of the location you can feel the movida vibes and sometimes can be noisy.

Ottimo hotel per posizione e prezzo. Vicino alla fermata alibus per aereoporto, vicino a ristoranti e pasticcerie, vicino al centro. Pulito e silenzioso, staff gentile, la colazione è forse migliorabile ma almeno ti danno un cornetto caldo di pasticceria.

Le note positive sono la posizione, centralissima, praticamente le camere affacciano sulla via etnea; i soffitti affrescati, molto belli. Adesso passiamo alle note dolenti: il bagno inservibile. Il box doccia è rotto e dopo la doccia si era allagato tutto. Ci siamo ritrovati di notte a dovere asciugare la camera. Il lavandino è seminterrato e dopo aver aperto l acqua per pochi secondi, si riempie e bisogna chiudere il rubinetto o straborda. La colazione é semplicemente pessima. Prosciutto e formaggio, yogurt, succo di frutta all ananas davvero dal brutto sapore e delle mele. Portano poi un solo cornetto, che non si prende dal buffet ma servono loro, duro. Anche caffè e cappuccino non sono liberi ma lo portano loro, ed uno solo a persona. Siamo usciti dall'hotel e abbiamo fatto colazione al bar. Le camere non sono insonorizzate e questo incide sensibilmente sulla qualità del soggiorno. Personalmente non ho chiuso occhio perché sotto il balcone alle 4 di notte dei turisti si sono azzuffati e abbiamo sentito tutta la discussione. Segnalo anche che la struttura é sprovvista di parcheggio, ma questo era indicato in fase di prenotazione. Nel complesso, non ci tornerei.

Hotel in posizione centralissima. Comodo allo shopping e vita notturna. Struttura in palazzo storico. Camera grande confortevole e pulitissima. Colazione gradevole. Personale gentile e disponibile. Ottimo per chi vuole godere Catania ed il suo centro storico
