Astonishing place in a medieval small town. Very comfortable, warm and cozy which is important because in winter it gets cold up there. Every night someone would magically, turn on the fireplace. Lovely and very welcoming people. Extremely professional and everything was super sophisticated. Delicious treats for breakfast, different every morning. Highly recommend.

Rest, recharge & enjoy superb " warm Portuguese hospitality at this premier Slow hospitality resort in the AH- mazing ... Centuries old CASTLE Village of " Costelo Rodrigo" perched high on a hill in the Center of Portugal - ( an hour or so from the major city of Guarda ) Casa da Cisterna is one of the MOST unique stays you could ever imagine!! 10 stars!!!! DREAMY! The hosts also have off site tours that are SO exciting & send your adrenaline into orbit ! Ask about the COA river valley night excursion!" Gorgeous rooms , yummy .. fresh , local ingredients for your meals!

Foi um fim de semana excelente, desde a casa que é bastante confortável e bem decorada, à cortesia da anfitriã Ana e das suas colaboradores, sempre disponíveis para tornar a nossa estadia o mais agradável possível. Inserida numa paisagem maravilhosa. Sem duvida um lugar a recomendar e a voltar.

Recently returned from a birding trip with friends to Portugal, and one of the places we had the good fortune to stay was at Casa da Cisterna in the Castelo Rodrigo historic village. Ana and her team made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was beautiful and comfortable, and it had lovely bird touches in the decor. In fact, a love of birds is obvious throughout the decor at Cisterna. The two dinners we ate there were delicious and highlighted local foods and recipes from olive oil and quince to chestnut pudding and almond tart. Ana paired the food with local wines, about which she is very knowledgeable. Ana is also a biologist and took us on a fascinating nighttime trip to see the 15,000 to 30,000-year-old Paleolithic rock art at Foz Côa Valley. If you get to Portugal, put this area and Casa Cisterna on your must visit list!

If you are anywhere in the locality don't miss this gem! Both the accommodation and the tiny medieval hamlet. We were in the Amieiro room in the main building, most comfortable and welcoming. We had eaten so didn't have dinner but we had a most enjoyable fresh breakfast. The surroundings are unique and our only wish was that we could have stayed longer! Thank you for your hospitality.

Voilà une adresse à ne pas manquer. Vous y serez reçu comme des princes. Accueil chaleureux et professionnelle. Un repas excellent avec un service impeccable. Une chambre parfaite avec un silence somptueux Un grand merci pour ces magnifiques moments

Muito bem localizado para apreciar a aldeia de Castelo Rodrigo e viver uma experiência agradável no Côa. Quartos simpáticos e muito bem decorados o que torna o ambiente agradável. Bom para relaxar. Vale a pena incluir na estadia o jantar no terrraço no verão. A comida é excelente, a refição cuidada e muito bem apresentada. A D. Estrela merece todo o reconhecimento. Bem como a D. Ana, uma anfitriã que nos faz sentir bemvindos.

Nous avons été accueillis par Ana, la sympathique propriétaire, qui parle le français, et le personnel rencontré était très serviable. Notre chambre se situait en contrebas de la maison principale (quelques escaliers à descendre/monter), face aux espaces communs (cuisine, salon), dont nous étions les seuls à bénéficier car il n'y avait pas d'autres résidents. La chambre était confortable et bien équipée (y compris climatisation), la salle de bain un peu étroite mais correcte. La piscine est agréable. Nous avons bien apprécié le petit-déjeuner, avec des produits frais, tout comme le dîner que nous avons pris en terrasse et qui a été servi par une gentille dame (qui ne parlait pas anglais/français mais qui a fait tout son possible pour nous donner des explications). Nous recommandons cet établissement.

Bella struttura posizionata all'interno del bel centro medioevale di Castelo Rodrigo. Ê strutturata come albergo diffuso, con l'edificio centrale che fa da reception e sala colazione/cena. Personale gentile e disponibile. Bella piscina a sfioro con bella vista sulla valle sottostante. Idem per il giardino fuori dalla reception. La nostra camera era carina.... non grande ma accogliente, idem il bagno e doccia. Era però troppo umida e anche con l'aiuto dell'aria condizionata ci è stato difficile dormire. Colazione.. sotto le aspettative, ci aspettavamo di più in termini di scelta e ..per il prezzo pagato.. piccola delusione ! Bella struttura ..ma con rapporto qualità / prezzo (visto altre strutture simili dove abbiamo alloggiato nel nostro tour del Portogallo) , un pochino alto.
