The Courtyard Apartments

The room I stayed in was falling apart they used tape to jerryrig a shower and it doesn’t help it, the bathroom door does lock, the bedroom door hit the door frame when you try to close it, there was a half empty beer can sitting on a table and a empty glass bottle on the floor, the balcony had a decent amount of cigarette buts on the that I cleaned up worried that there was a chance I could get in trouble for it so I suggested staying somewhere else unless it’s one night but even then I’d suggest staying somewhere else.

We booked 3 apartments for my mams 80th Birthday, two days before our arrival we got an email to say they were putting us into one of their holiday houses instead of the apartments as our group was 17 people. On arrival we were brought to what as I can only describe as a shop front we went in the doorway down a narrow hall to what was supposed to be a kitchen, so not adequate for 17 people. There was 3 very small bathrooms for 17 people. There was 5 bedrooms all but one had two many beds in them, very hard to walk around the rooms, nowhere for everyone to put their clothes, everyone left the clothes in their bags. the main reception room was basically a shop with assorted sofas a mismatch of furniture all different shapes and sizes. Some of our group complained and we tried to get changed back to the apartments and was told be the reception staff that nothing was available and they might be able to give us one apartment the next day (we were only staying for 2 nights) they offered no compensation or reimbursement and were very unhelpful. This wasn't a group of 18 to 35 year olds. The average age of our group was 72. It was an absolute joke.

Stayed here for 2 nights. The apartments are set in an excellent location, within walking distance to all the restaurants and bars. It is a prime spot to be based for the main sights and activities of Carrick-On-Shannon, such as the Moon River Cruise, the Heritage Centre and the Costello Memorial Chapel. The apartments were fully equipped with everything needed. Very clean and comfortable and great value for money. Check-in was easy. Highly recommend this place. Will be staying again.

Large group of us booked various apartments for the weekend. A small issue with the rooms was quickly sorted in a professional manner. The rooms were slightly dated but well worth the price paid. The beds were comfortable and a full kitchen set up. Any questions or queries we had the staff were able to help. The reception staff were very friendly and in great spirits chatting to us. The accommodation is in a great place with Murtagh’s bar (highly recommend) right beside. We felt very safe with security around the building on weekend nights.

Great location in the main area of Carrick, close to all the main nightlife bars and resturants. Check-in was quick and staff friendly. Apartment clean and spacious and almost includes everything one needs for a break away. Check out is 11am which was a little early.

There's a 200 odd quid deposit that they don't tell you about until your at the front desk, which is a disgrace as they hold your room for ransom at the last minute rather than tell you through the booking process. The staff, the very few I seen looked to be miserable in their jobs. The bullying security staff are a joke at the bar, the apartments, the disco downstairs. Would not visit again and when I contacted courtyard apartments to explain... They did not seem to care. Take your money elsewhere

The staff was friendly and the size of the apartment was great. However, the rooms were absolutely freezing especially the bathroom. The shower was one of the worst I have ever used it went from freezing cold to extremely hot back to cold the entire time. The bathroom also looked very "used" it seemed dirty at first but was just very used and old, it could really do with some work. All the above could be easily fixed and then it would be a great place to stay.

I stayed here for two nights recently and maybe the time of the year and Irelands recovery from Covid restrictions tainted my view a bit?? The good stuff. Easy to find and park, rooms were spacious and clean with a separate lounge/kitchen, much bigger than a hotel room which for a business traveller is nice. The Ok stuff Arrived later at night, very dark entrance and place was deserted, if i was a female lone traveller that would be a red flag for me. The not great. Apartment was freezing cold when arrived, took a good hr to heat up. No radiator style heater in toilet just a fan heater which aint too powerful, it's an electric shower so the flow and power of water is very poor in my opinion. Tips Bring your own toiletries and basic items such as coffee tea sugar milk...not being a regular to this location i couldn't find anything in walking distance to "stock up" the night I arrived. The Square Corner is an exceptional little restaurant/Take away with some of the best pasta I have ever tasted...if there's a group of you phone ahead and bulk order, you won't be disappointed. There's a Circle K garage close by with your standard deli in it for morning coffee and baguettes etc. In summary i wouldn't use here again as i doesn't suit my needs as a business traveller but if i was part of a large group on a stag/hen/weekend away then i would consider it as i can see the appeal.
