Premier Inn Cardiff West

We needed to stay over for a Cardiff university visit, and we chose to stay at this premier inn. We arrived around 19.45, the receptionist was very friendly upon arrival. We had booked the meal deal, the receptionist booked us a table for dinner and we were asked what time we wanted a table for breakfast. I would prefer to be able to go down for breakfast when I wanted, not have to book a specific time. We booked an upgraded room, and I thought the room looked nice. When we went in, it was cold as it had the cold air on. I changed the temperature and we went for dinner. I was expecting to see more customers in the restaurant, as the receptionist had implied it was very busy next door. Service was average. We were ignored whilst we stood waiting to be seated, to start with. The food was nice. The manager was very friendly and seemed to be working the hardest. When we went back to the room, it was still cold, I actually had to turn the whole system off to warm up. As a perimenopausal woman, I normally get very warm at night, but I actually slept under the duvet that night. I woke up around 4.30 am. and could not go back to sleep due to road noise. The upgraded shower wasn't good. The fixed head worked, but I wanted to use the more powerful shower head to wash my hair. It did not work at all! I did report this to the receptionist. Breakfast was terrible. The cooked items were cold. The person serving breakfast wasn't particularly friendly, and when he wasn't serving , he was leaning in a corner by the kitchen on his phone. I probably would return but wouldn't use the restaurant again.

From the very first moment we stepped onto the premises Kim the manager made us feel so welcome and like nothing was too much trouble! The room was fantastic and the breakfast was delicious. Would highly recommend. Thank you Kim

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights while we were attending a wedding in the area. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. It had everything you’d expect from a premier inn. The staff in particular though were really nice and accommodating. I asked if we could have a late checkout as we’d had a late night, and although they couldn’t facilitate it due to shift schedules, they did ask the cleaner if they could leave our room until last to give us a bit extra time. Very thankful, as we needed it! Would definitely stay again.

Out of all the premier inns I’ve stopped at this is certainly one of the nicer ones. Recently refurbished rooms and a good restaurant attached next door. Staff were also incredibly helpful too! Will certainly be stopping here again. Plus great links via motorways

We’ve stayed at this hotel a number of times, and it’s always a delight. The location is good for exploring the South Wales coast, and the people in the hotel are lovely, as well as the restaurant. The rooms are good, especially having just been upgraded on the first floor. Kim the manager runs the hotel with a very good team, and we shall be back! Well done everyone!

The hotel has recently been renovated and looks brilliant. The staff I spoke with were very kind and friendly her name was Kim very nice lady would definitely stay here again the food in the hotel which is with the hotel does great food and very reasonably priced
