If you come for the tuition, it is excellent as are to he facilities and the bar view is amazing. However the quality of its accommodation offering is mediocre. My single bedroom had bunk beds and only 8 inches of space next to bed. Not sure why they bothered with desk and chair as not even a child could not sit at desk due to bed Bathroom was fine, great shower. Bed , I tried both, was very uncomfortable. Evening meals very good. Breakfast and pscked lunch very poor. Ingredients were poor quality, which could not be hidden. Lunch was very limited, and was mostly awful. Mostly I ended up driving to Llanberis or Betsy for something edible. Vegetarians well catered for, but not vegans or gluten free. Not sure if allergies catered for, as I was only looking at vegan and gluten free for a potential group booking. Better to stay at The Rock or an AirBnB unless coming for a course. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I have stayed here about four times, and the food offering has definitely dropped in quality (bar evening meals)

Our family all had a fantastic day on a guided scrabbling and climbing tour with one of Plas y Brenin's ultra experienced, knowledgeable and engaging guides. We are more or less novices (with a tiny bit of indoor climbing know how/practice), and our youngest is 8yrs old. Our guide focused the day completely around us, starting with a conversation at the centre itself. He led us from easy scrambling and roping in practice through to more moderate scrambling (all within our range), to climbing a small face on a belay and abseiling from the top. He also showed us how to use the equipment at each stage - letting my children practice with a wide array of holds. We really enjoyed the day, felt a real sense of achievement and all came away loving climbing and wanting more.

We had the most amazing day as a family with our instructor Claire. As a family of 7, made up of three children, two parents and two grandparents, we managed to do all the activities! Claire was super patient and explained everything clearly. We began in canoes, and even our 5 year old managed that. We played games and raced making it so enjoyable. Then we had lunch and after lunch, once we had squeezed ourselves into wet suits, we hit the kayaks and paddle boards. It was brilliant and everyone had a go and enjoyed every minute. We could have been wet, cold and miserable. But it wasn’t at all like that! We got wet, we fell in, we splashed, played games and laughed a lot. I absolutely recommend this place!

Attended a private intro to white water kayaking course. Private only due to being unable to attend pre planned course dates. Had Chris Evans instructing with Grace coming along to observe. Superb day out for my pal and I . Great instruction equipment and location. Catered perfectly for our level of Exp and increased it as we went. We will be back to continue our Kayaking

I was here on an Mountain Leader training course and I absolutely loved it! The place and the people that work here are amazing. Everyone is so helpful, friendly and polite. Not only that but the food is brilliant and they catered for myself who is plant based and others who happened to be vegan and the beer is fantastic as well.
