Had a lovely stay in the Barn at Raptor Rise. Surely one of the largest cottages we have stayed in. Top of the range appliances and all the items one would need for a great stay. Found the private garden with fireplace and braai and lots of wood a great plus factor.

Was such a relaxing peaceful stay loved walking around on the farm as well swim and to see all the animals. The staff was very helpful and extremely friendly. Such a wonderful place to get away from City life. Will definitely book again.

The Barn, where we stayed, was spacious, the kitchen was equipped with more appliances that was needed. The dishwasher was also a luxury. The living area and outside sitting area and fenced in garden was excellent and felt luxurious. We were pleasantly surprised

Our guide Mphundo was incredible- so engaging, interesting and good fun. Anyone who comes to Joburg should experience this - so they truly understand the history of this country and also to get to interact with local people. Also to encourage people to not be afraid of coming to this country and dissipate all the bad press it gets. The tuk tuk tour is a great way of getting around if biking is not for you

The cottage at Raptor Rise is absolutely wonderful, it is so peaceful and surrounded by beautiful views. The cottage is very well equipped and it is just the most wonderful place to relax and unwind. Your own private swimming pool was heaven. We loved seeing all the farm animals and the two resident donkeys came to visit every day. All rooms are air conditioned and that was a relief in the heat. The kitchen is so well equipped and even has an airfryer. There is a lovely indoor fireplace that we will definitely have to try out in winter. Tulbagh is an absolute gem and we had a great getaway.

We absolutely loved our stay!! The room we stayed in was big, comfortable mattress, and had everthing we needed, including a lounge and table we could eat at. Nice little kitchenette and bathrooms. Beautiful views of vineyards and olive plantation.  Thank you so much

Comfortable stay and would re-visit. Recommend to others. Convenient location. we did not make use of any facilities other than the room and patio.

Everything, from the booking, advice, assistance & support was excellent and the venue, accommodation, facilities, staff etc., was the best we have ever enjoyed. I can honestly very highly rate Raptor Rise for your next get-away / holiday.

Have stayed at Raptor Rise 3 times in the last 18 months - it is fabulous! Great location and having access to a swimming pool in the summer heat is a rare find and a game changer! We recently stayed at the new house, the Farmhouse and had an epic time. The house is beautiful designed, luxuriously furnished and spacious. Loved the outdoor showers, private pool, drinks fridges and incredibly well supplied kitchen.

This was one of the best appointed units I have ever stayed in. The attention to detail was incredible.Nothing was missing, it was spotless and the setting is amazing. We have stayed at Raptors Rise before in two different units - both superb and have booked again for February next year!

Beautiful Raptor Rise This was our 3rd visit and the room was very well kept and neat. I cannot recall if there was an iron previously but we did miss this - perhaps a mini foldable ironing board and iron could be provided. The salt and pepper shakers had the wrong contents (salt shaker had pepper in it and vice versa). The privacy screen at the pool looks great. We could unfortunately not use the pool as it seems like a corporate group booked most of the cottages and spent their entire stay at the pool which left no space for others to use the loungers or spend some time in the sun and the pool. They also used the front entrance of the reception area for their evening get togethers which did become noisy at times. It was the noisiest stay we have experienced. Perhaps a 'boma' section should be built close to the veggie patch so that get togethers are possible but not in the centre of the establishment. I would also suggest a welcome bottle of wine promoting the beautiful vineyards and vintages.

Beautiful and spotlessly clean It was a treat to enter such a beautiful, clean, and well-set-up unit. We stayed in the 2 bedroom unit and were very impressed from the Smeg stove to the dishwasher, the aircon worked well and fans were much needed in the bedrooms. The kitchen was well-equipped and we had everything we needed for the weekend. The bathrooms were very clean and well set out. All the beautiful creams and soaps were very much appreciated. The beds were very comfortable and the king size in the main bedroom was extra large with large comfortable pillows The unit had a lovely big covered patio with a large outdoor 6 seater table and chairs and then a separate 4 seater outdoor set. It was a private unit that looked out onto a beautiful garden with the mountains in the background with the hoses, cows and sheep, and the hens which popped in for a visit every now and then. A peaceful and beautiful setting. We used the pool as it gets very hot and appreciated the comfortable loungers around the pool. I will definitely recommend this lodge and a good stay for anywhere in the Tulbagh area.
