Do not book this hotel!!! I regret ever trusting this place, and Hyatt should be ashamed to have their name attached to it. Horrible Experience! Unauthorized Charges, Clueless Staff, and No Basic Amenities! This hotel is an absolute disaster! I booked a one-night stay for my friend through Agoda while she waited for her cruise, and from the start, the experience was a nightmare. She checked in around 1 PM on the hotel’s second day of being open, and the front desk demanded a $50 payment without any explanation. She assumed it was a security deposit or resort fee, only to later find out that they charged her $248 without her authorization! No warning, no reason just an unauthorized charge sitting in her bank account. When she asked about it, the staff couldn’t even explain why she was charged! They brushed her off with, “It’ll come back to your account tomorrow.” How is that an acceptable answer?! She was obviously uneasy, and so was I. Later, at 5 PM, she tried again, only to be met with a completely different front desk agent named Janelle, who gave the most ridiculous excuse I’ve ever heard: “Just in case you decide to stay another night.” Excuse me, WHAT?! Since when does a hotel just charge guests hundreds of dollars without their consent “just in case” they stay longer? That is completely unacceptable and a shady business practice! Furious, I called the hotel myself, and you know what they said? “Oh, we just made a mistake.” A mistake?! That’s not a mistake that’s outright incompetence and fraud. Then they had the nerve to say, “We’ll refund it back tomorrow.” Oh, so you can take the money instantly but need a full day to return it or worse, 3-5 days?! Then I asked for the name of the staff member who assisted my friend at 1 PM so I could name-drop her in this review. And you know what they told me? “I don’t have her name.” So I asked again, “It’s not in your system?” The response? “It is, but I can’t check it right now.” Seriously?! So I asked again, “Why not?” And instead of answering, she hung up on me. What kind of customer service is that?! Instead of fixing the issue, they avoided accountability and acted like it wasn’t a big deal. And if that wasn’t bad enough, this so called 4 or 5-star hotel doesn’t even provide complimentary water! They have coffee and tea in the room but no water. How are guests supposed to make coffee or tea without water?! For the ridiculous prices they charge, you’d think they could at least offer something so basic. This was hands down the worst hotel experience ever. Unprofessional, untrained staff, unauthorized charges, hanging up on guests, and no attention to basic guest needs. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. I regret ever trusting this place, and Hyatt should be ashamed to have their name attached to it.
