I find Lemon Tree brand somehow misplaced with its identity. These are mostly premium properties by price, however, by service no better than bed and breakfast. I have been to these properties in multiple cities/locations, and their state of conducting service is same. So let's get started with this one... Point to keep in mind is they charged INR 7000/night including breakfast. Property: Beautiful at best. Wish ITC or Taj would have managed it as the upkeep has a lot to expect. Corridors slippery, too many insects lizards and bugs considering it's covered in lush greenery however guests definitely don't want these critters in the rooms. Rooms are spacious, didn't quiet understand why bathroom was as big as the room including sitting area. Room that was alloted was the terrace suite, with the room area split in half by a 6 foot half divider to make it into room with sitting area, considerably reducing the room size...not required at all. Swimming pool is the key attraction. Location: Excellent, walking distance from Candolim beach, all amenities within 5 mins walk, including restaurants, departmental stores, shopping, medical facilities, rental vehicles, et al. Service: Front office was pathetic. Same attitude in all Lemon Tree properties, no Hospitality at all. No eye contact, no greeting, no May I help you. One is on his own for check in but room allotment is at the mercy of the staff. 3pm is check in, we were informed the room was ready at 4pm. Considering we followed up since 2pm. I asked to speak with Front office manager or GM, no change in their behavior even after that. I have Hospitality background and have worked with 5 star properties, irrespective of the room category, it doesn't take more than 30.mins to ready a room, I have done this myself. Checkout was long, with billing errors leading to 2 separate payments to be made. Wonder if I would have left the hotel, how would they have recovered the un billed amount. Restaurant staff - a completely different story. Sanjay and his team made it worth staying there due to super personalized care. Hats off to them. However, buffet was mostly un stocked and very limited. This is more for Exec Chef and F&B head to pull up their socks on. House keeping - staff good, forth coming. Again, when we got the room, no face towels were there, toiletries were not replenished, had to call them to get these. Basic stuff, guess 3 hrs between checkout time and check in time is not enough to monitor basic things. Food: I would avoid completely. Though palatable and service staff accommodated a lot to customize, however grossly expensive. Not worth the money spent. There are way too many options outside to grab. Overall: Avoidable hotel/resort, purely basis price versus service. At 7k/night there are numerous other options available equally equipped and conveniently located with much better offerings. Note - DO NOT go for taxis around hotel premises even within 250 meters. I paid INR 3000 for 4 hrs 8 kms.
