Casablanca

The room was spacious enough but very basic, old and needs refurbishment. I'm not a fuss pot but the general stay did not meet our expectations given the previous reviews .( Stayed in many 3 *goa hotels before , so I know what to expect) We enjoyed our time in Goa but only used the hotel as a base so it was OK to stay there. Firstly the positives : Superb location for beach , good size clean pool. Good fans and air conditioning, quiet location. Lovely security men on gate. Negatives : Only 3 sunbeds round pool. Room very dated , no hangers, mouldy bathroom , wires on show on lamp plugs, patio door didn't close properly , room/ balcony overlooked a building site . No safe , no sheet but instead an old blanket . Had to ask for room to be cleaned several times , ( as receptionist just said yes to everything but didnt understand the basics ) had to ask for bath towels ,they also took our condiments we brought with us to our room !! You had to constantly ask for toilet roll. Every night there would be a stench of sewerage as they pumped it from.the drain outside our block. The blocks electricity board kept cutting out day and night. A *** kept having to open cupboard and bang it several times to get it to jump back to life. During the night this would wake you up at all hours. The hotel was full of mostly Indian family tourists who were very loud/ shouting with their doors open for everyone to hear. Wifi poor and kept dropping. Breakfast was the worst ever had in Goa ...we paid for it and never returned after first morning. You had to find your own way round the self service, staff didn't assist us unless we asked them. The food was classically indian ( which I like ) but it looked dreadful , dried up and thrown together. Eggs were cooked fresh though. If you asked someone to do it for you. Unfortunately it felt like this was a basic hotel skimping on everything. They haven't got the service right for westerners yet, is my conclusion.

We left after 2 nights. Our ‘suite’ was like a cave, damp and dirty. The mattress was very thin, we had no top sheet only a grubby looking blanket to cover us. The pillows smelled bad. The last straw was seeing 2 rats running up the outside wall next to our bathroom (where the window was permanently open). They refused to give us any money back. We are used to India, we chose this middle of the road hotel - we don’t mind basic as long as it’s reasonably clean - even by Indian standards.

Ideally positioned hotel Very well-placed hotel, central for all amenities, near both beach & shops. Nice pool & lots of choice for breakfast food. Very friendly staff. Had a few power cuts but this was sorted straight away. Spacious 2-roomed apartments although a bit dated & bed sheets not changed during our 4-night stay. Separate (basic) shower room. Aircon & ceiling fans in both rooms so good temperature regulation. Tea & coffee-making facilities in the room.

Book somewhere else It was ok. Very basic. Big plus is its location a 3 minute walk from the beach. The room was ok, overpriced for what it is. Most of the staff were pleasant except one reception guy, the older guy, he was rude and unlike the other members of staff who were friendly. Needed late check out, which we had already asked for, he said we hadn’t and asked who with. Then told us it was 1500 to have late checkout. The guy next to him said 2500, to hen he said this I realised he was the one who had agreed late check out. The first guy then said 2000. Totallly corrupt individuals and I don’t know if the hotel owner knows what they are doing. The balcony had 2 metal chairs on it. I asked for a table and was told one wasn’t allocated to our room. As you walk pad the other rooms they all have tables and chairs. The pool was ok. The cleaning staff and security were so friendly and nice just a shame the reception staff weren’t. It’s totally geared up to domestic tourists. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all, so many nicer and cheaper places nearby. It’s a shame as it could be a good hotel.

This hotel is a dump. Rooms are very old and in need of refurbishment. The bathrooms are the worst part. Silicone with mould , broken tiles and a shower curtain that's never been cleaned . I'm not being fussy but I can honestly say this is one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in

This was terrible I can’t believe it’s a 3 star should be a 1 for hygiene the room was filthy the wardrobe couldn’t hang clothes up so many cobwebs and dirt they change the bedding had more stains on it the only thing that was good was breakfast I’m not fussy at all but it’s nothing like the photos or reviews
