Blue Sea Apartamentos Callao Garden

A very good value hotel, with friendly and helpful staff, and really quite good buffet food (we were all-inclusive, which was a first for us). However, the fixtures and furnishings in our room were very dated, bordering on shabby, and need replacing (some friends in another room had much newer fittings) and there was no functioning WiFi in our room. A big downside was a minority of noisy people in the pool areas on most days - it would have been nice if the security staff could have intervened occasionally!

The hotel and accommodation were excellent, the food however did not have a variety of options to choose from one meat and one fish with either salad or chips, this is the only thing letting this hotel down. When it’s raining the restaurant gets very busy as unable to sit outside, this was managed really well and queuing was policed and people were allocated tables in order of arrival - this was good to see

Ficamos num habitação ampla, com um pequeno quarto, sala, cozinha e varanda com vista para o mar. Um hotel com 3 piscinas bem agradáveis. Excelente atendimento do pessoal da recepção e sala de refeições. O pessoal do bar por vezes parecia cansado ou chateado ou qualuqer coisa, pois a simpatia era raro ver-se... É este o motivo de avaliar em 4 e não em 5. Obviamente é um hotel de 3 estrelas, por isso não estava à espera das comodidades de um hotel de 5 estrelas. Daí poder dizer que entendo que tem uma boa relação preço/qualidade. Estando de carro está no excelente ponto para visitar toda a ilha.

We were a little apprehensive before arrival having read some of these reviews, but we needn't have worried. We had a lovely relaxing holiday. The complex did need a little updating but it was spotlessly clean. The apartment was very spacious and we had a fabulous sea view from the balcony. We didn't have a kettle but the reception soon provided one on request. There are 3 pools and plenty of sunbeds. There were a limited choice of main meals, but we always found something that we wanted and enjoyed. The bar had plenty of choice for all inclusive drinks. The staff were all lovely and very friendly. A recommendation to the complex from us would be more evening entertainment. We had a live act on only 1 night of the week. They were fantastic, and had everyone up dancing. It completely changed the atmosphere of the bar area. However, this complex is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. There are a lot of steps and hills to navigate. Having said that though, it did help us to work off our meals. In summary, we had excellent value for money for a 3 star hotel at a 3 star price. Anyone expecting 5 star facilities should go elsewhere and pay a 5 star price. We will definitely return as we loved our holiday. Tip... don't use the main road to get to the beach, it's a lot quicker to take the little road, accessed to the right of the restaurant.

Experiencia de pesadilla: TERRORÍFICA. Antes de nada decir que el personal muy amable y profesional en todo momento. Pero el estado de las instalaciones es lamentable. Es un complejo que se compone de varios edificios de tres pisos y en cada piso hay dos apartamentos. Hay un millón de escaleras para acceder a todo. Tienen tres piscinas y muchas de ellas le falta varios gresites. Los exteriores de todos los edificios están en un estado horrible, con desconchones y humedades, con toda la pintura descascarillada. El interior de los apartamentos es aún peor: el dormitorio no tiene ventanas, tiene dos camas de 90 con un somier tapizado y colchón de muelles, y ninguna mesilla porque no entra. El salón tiene una cama supletoria ahí en medio con un sofá con unas manchas de dudosa procedencia. Una TV la cual si quieres ver, tienes que pagar!! Sin persianas, sin climatización de ningún tipo. Y en la zona de la cocina un horror de mobiliario y una campana extractora rota. Lo único bueno las vistas desde la terraza. El tendedero de la terraza roto también. Pero lo peor está por llegar: el baño! La bañera asquerosa, con todo el esmalte levantado y unos manchas de óxido horribles. La tapa del WC de plástico y suelta totalmente. El agua caliente va por un termo eléctrico ENANO, por lo que todos los días uno de los dos, terminaba de ducharse con agua FRÍA, peor que un campamento militar. En cuanto a la comida, el bufet consistía en: haz tu propia ensalada con lechuga con bichos (que es normal, pero hay que lavar). Arroz blanco, pasta cocida, unas chuletas de cerdo secas, tilapia de mil maneras y verduras horribles con algún tipo de frito, y luego los postres que era, posiblemente lo mejor: fruta en almíbar y pastelitos de colores. Los desayunos eran pasables. Por otro lado el “todo incluido” solo incluye el bufet y la bebida, puesto que no hay NADA más en lo que poder amortizarlo. Una vergüenza que se cobre dinero por esta experiencia. Denunciable!!!

We are on our last day today and want to say what a fab time we've had here. If you're looking for a 5 star , best food, hundreds of things to do, then this is not for you. But like us if you just enjoy a beautiful, quiet holiday in a pleasant, clean hotel with fab pools and views its really worth the money. We did all inclusive so all food and drinks are here. We've been to places with more variety but here they have a really nice selection of foods each meal time and vary the main meals each day. Drinks are great and the bar is really generous with shots. Things to think about are the many steps to climb up and down to restaurant, pools and bars. There are slopes instead at the sides but it did take a bit of effort .. great way to work off the drinks though in holiday if you want a positive spin! The rooms are very clean. Maybe could do with some maintenance but you get the impression they're working around to it all. Loved the spaciousness. Normally we are a family of 4 squeezed into 1 room. This time the kids had a bed each in the living area and we had our own room. Had to ask for extra pillows but they were happy to oblige. The beach in Callao Salvaje is lovely. Kids loved the big waves and still made sandcastles in the black sand. There's a restaurant/bar on the beach and nearby lots of shops, cocktail bars and restaurants here too. One review said it was a long walk to the beach but you just go down the right side of the hotel past the restaurant and you're out near the shops and the short walk to the beach it's great. We would happily come to this hotel again. The staff are warm and love the kids. Good value for money.
