Highland House Callander

Fantastic guest house in a beautiful town. We loved Highland Guest House. It's in a perfect location in a great little tow. Our hosts were wonderful, friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful, the breakfast was fantastic, and another guest lounge had supplies of tea, coffee and fruit available during the day. We found many wonderful walks in the area, great meals in the nearby pub and lots of interesting shops in town. This guest house was also the best value accommodation we found on our holiday in the UK.

Central to Town Located in the centre of town, Jan was very welcoming, where the bed was beautiful & very comfortable. The room was warm, but the toilet has no heating. What let the room down was the shower, which had a lot of mould, the shower head wouldn’t stay up, the mould in the shower head didn’t allow proper water flow, and we just couldn’t get a good temperature. Breakfast was good, with fresh fruit, yogurts, and a cooked breakfast. No sausage, but definitely filling, with an excellent ground coffee machine available all day. You could do worse than stay here, but sadly, I have stayed in much better for the price.

I stayed there for two nights, im a single room ensuit. Very nice owners, really good breakfast, tea and coffee making facilities. Enyoyed the stay in center of Callander, free street parking near by, also shops, supermarket, restaurants and stunning views.

Set in a picturesque setting, this place radiates conviviality and serenity, offering a true oasis of well-being in the heart of the Trossachs. Our room was simply perfect: spacious, tastefully and thoughtfully decorated, spotlessly clean, and always stocked with thoughtful touches like coffee, tea, and biscuits. The comfort of the bed deserves a special mention: as professional photographers, often prone to body aches from our work, we found a true sanctuary here. Sleeping in this bed was like floating on a cloud, providing complete and restorative rest. And what can we say about the breakfast? It was simply delicious and plentiful, a real treat to start our days of exploration. Each morning, we were delighted by the quality and generosity of the dishes, all prepared with care and passion. Our stay was fantastic in every way. We were thrilled by this experience, and we wish to warmly thank Jan, who welcomed us with such kindness, and Gordon, whom we would have loved to meet. Dès notre arrivée, nous avons ressenti une atmosphère si cosy, familiale et chaleureuse qu'il semblait presque que nous venions de rentrer chez nous, mais dans une version bien plus agréable que notre appartement parisien. Niché dans un cadre pittoresque, cet endroit respire la convivialité et la sérénité, une vraie parenthèse de bien-être au cœur des Trossachs. La chambre que nous avons eue était tout simplement parfaite : spacieuse, décorée avec goût et soin, d'une propreté irréprochable, et toujours garnie de petites attentions comme du café, du thé et des biscuits. Le confort du lit mérite une mention spéciale : en tant que photographes professionnels, souvent sujets à des douleurs dues à notre activité, nous avons trouvé ici un véritable sanctuaire pour notre corps. Dormir dans ce lit était comme flotter sur un nuage, un repos complet et réparateur. Et que dire du petit-déjeuner ? Il était tout simplement délicieux et copieux, un vrai régal pour démarrer nos journées d'exploration. Chaque matin, nous étions ravis par la qualité et la générosité des plats proposés, préparés avec soin et passion.

We slept very well despite the fact that the beds are 1,90m long. My brother and my self are both 1,86m and 1,91m and used to 2m beds. The rooms are nicely arranged and we were lucky to get the apartment with two rooms and beds to avoid slipping in a 1,40 wide bed together. Jan and Gordon take care of anything you like. Breakfast was great offering all the options from fruit juice, fruit salad, cereals, cooked breakfast. We really enjoyed it. For any further visits in that region I would go back there. I would exchange the typical water taps versus a single lever mixer.

Lovely place to stay, great food and very welcoming and friendly staff. Room was immaculate and home like, 24 hour coffee machine. Would definitely stay again, located just off the high street in Callander, local pubs and restaurants near by.
