Brannan Cottage Inn

Amazing inn centrally located in Calistoga. Beautifully appointed rooms. The attention to small details is immaculate (like heated toilet seats, plush bath robes, complimentary sweets, electronic door locks). Would highly recommend staying here when in the area.

Perfect spot for a quick weekend getaway! Efficient and contactless check-in, the room was ready before we even got to Calistoga! Great location, I enjoyed the historical significance of the cottage, and its a few steps from downtown Calistoga, but around the corner so you're not disturbed by traffic noise. The room was very nicely done, cozy, spotlessly clean -- in fact, I found it was much nicer in reality than the photos (which is rare these days!) Lots of attention to detail (from the cute welcome note, the toiletries the room, features like heated toilet seats, an oil diffuser, and a phone sanitizer, and even chocolate, gummi bears, bottles of wine, and shots for morning recovery in the room). It's on site with Sam's General Store, so it was convenient to pop out for some coffee or just hang out in the garden. Having the bikes were also a bonus, we were able to take quick ride down the Napa Valley Wine Trail which starts just nearby!

I planned a weekend getaway for my husband’s birthday. Our whole experience was wonderful. We originally booked a stay at Brannan Cottage Inn, but was offered a complimentary upgrade to a room at their brand new hotel in the heart of Calistoga downtown for being an ******* VIP member. I’m sure the inn is as wonderful, but our room was just beautiful and well thought out. The bathroom floor and toilet seat were heated! Warm feet, warm butt. I can go on forever about the room, but what deserves more bragging is our host, Nicole. Although we didn’t see her in person because, I’m guessing, she was at the Branna Cottage Inn location, she was in constant communication with us, letting us know when our room was ready, how to access the main building and room, where free parking lots were located. Everything! Even though there was no reception desk at the Brannan Lofts location, the Cottage Inn was less than a 5-min walk if you needed anything, which we didn’t because everything was already there! Another thing that we appreciated was free breakfast at Sam’s General Store. Everything we ate was delicious. We cannot wait to be back and stay at Brannan Lofts Hotel.

My husband and I spent last weekend at BCI. Everything we needed was right there, from all sorts of pampering soaps and lotions to the in-room simple-to-operate coffee maker that produced very decent coffee. We easily walked everywhere: the spa/baths and the Calistoga restaurants and shops. For breakfast, there is a charming coffee shop at the front of the inn. A great choice for a Napa Valley stay.

We have traveled all around the Napa Valley and stayed in many of the towns/hotels/lodging options. We stayed at the cottages in November for 4 nights. The cottages are cute, the grounds are neatly kept. The parking spots are few, however there is parking along the street. The communication and check in process was great and smooth. They checked in several times to ensure we had all we needed. As other reviewers mention, the cottages connect to Sam's general store which offers some really great breakfast, coffee, sandwiches etc. Really great breakfast options will say. The one cottage room backs up to the cafe. The cottage rooms are on a wooden walk in front of their doors. The public restroom for the cafe is at the end of the boardwalk. The rooms themself are smallish, but cute and well equipped. Bathroom is equipped with hair dryer, flat iron/curler, and a heated toilet seat. They provided mnm's and gummy bears as snacks and great coffee in room, and a little fridge. So, overall the rooms are cute, comfy and the grounds cute. Also, comparatively speaking the price for these rooms are quite reasonable for the area. We were out of the room enjoying wine tastings most of the day, so a lot of these issues aren't horribly annoying. Overall our stay was good, and we enjoyed sitting out by the fire pit and enjoying a bottle of wine and snacks after wine tasting one day. Here is my feedback on things to be aware of when booking. The wooden boardwalk in front of the rooms is a bit noisy and people will walk by your room. You will likely end up having your blinds pulled unless you want folks looking in on their way past. There are also cute sitting areas in front of the rooms, quite close, that the patrons of the cafe can and will sit at. As, mentioned as well, the cafe is great, convenient and good food. It is noisy and busy, it does a great business. In my opinion these are the things to be aware of when booking. Humble suggestions for the Brannan Cottage staff - consider putting a mat or rug along the boardwalk to cut the walking noise in front of the cottages, or even try to limit Sam's cafe patrons from walking on it, particularly in the early a.m. Be very clear in your description that the one room backs right up to the cafe, maybe even offer lower room rate for that room and free breakfast :) Some savory snacks in room, in addition to candy would be a cool addition for hungry folks who come back from wine tasting. We've seen this a lot in the Napa valley and it's so nice. Overall, we had a great stay and would consider coming back and staying on the other side. Thank you!
