We like this hotel mainly because it is an apartment hotel, not just a bedroom with options. The options at this hotel ensure you get a choice suited to your needs. If you enter the free loyalty scheme, you can look forward to price discounts. We find that room prices increase at Easter and Christmas as I imagine other hotels do. Cheapest price is usually booking direct online. With a budget airline to this hotel, you can pay up to £1000 more for a 2 week stay. It is not necessarily child friendly. The play area is at one end of the complex with not much for parents to do other than sit around waiting. There is a pool nearby but divorced from the play area. However the hotel is situated very close to Caleta beach. The food offerings are very cosmopolitan in order to cater for the many different nationalities that stay at this hotel. People who do not embrace foreign menus may find this restrictive. Rooms are generally made up as 2 large singles but when making your online booking you can request a "cama matrimonio" in the notes section which will indicate a double bed request. The resulting bed is massive, much bigger than a king size. Ideal for "starfish" sleepers. Not all rooms are in tip top condition but the staff do attend to issues promptly or give you another room offer. There is a large contingency of maintenance staff, gardeners and cleaners all employed by the hotel. We had a refridgerator replaced because it was minus the door shelves for storing bottles of water/drinks. The evening entertainment takes place in what is described as the Show Factory. The shows are generally music/singing based. The venue is not a theatre but a hall with a bar, snooker tables and large TV screens for sports etc. at one end and the stage at the other. It has no acoustic properties so it is very loud and talking/singing is largely incoherent and in some case deafening. With an app on my phone I regularly recorded 90 decibels or more which is considered to be harmful over long periods of exposure. The sister hotel entertainment at the Hotel Barcelo Mar does have a theatre environment but again the acoustics are terrible and equally as loud. In general, Fuerteventura lacks good adult evening entertainment. There is a ceinema at the Atlantico Shopping Centre and on most Tuesdays you can find a film in English.
