Hotel Chatur Costa Caleta

My experience here after an 8 day holiday was a mixture of happy and disappointed. Firstly on the whole the place was close to everything in resort , staff friendly. The food was a bit hit and miss . But breakfast was always good to be fare . Rooms small but adequate . Lacked a fridge and kettle tho . Main pool was small and half shaded after 2pm . But it was the warmest heated pool I've ever experienced abroad (great in winter months ) although a couple of days it was not and it was cold . The roof top pool was having maintenance , which was not good , when you advertise it is. Another niggle was the pool table was not the best maintained and never had chalk , big let down for a few people including us . The games round pool by day where not always on and one day we joined in the darts competition but dartboard was that old darts kept bouncing out . Why not buy another it's not exactly expensive . The music round pool was elvis presley or Direstraights . Which was OK once but repeated over and over 🤔. Entertainment was not the best on an evening comprising of a small stage where half the room could not view . This place was OK for price I guess but some little tweaks could make it so much better . Nous sommes arrivés à l'hôtel à 9h, la chambre n'était pas prête, le restaurant n'est pas très bien, les desserts sont mauvais et peu de fruits frais , buffet repas, restaurant et nourriture adaptés pour la clientèle anglaise qui est majoritaire dans cet établissement. L'hôtel et les chambres sont propres, l'établissement est situé à proximité de la plage et au calme. Le personnel n'est pas très chaleureux. La piscine était chauffée, l'accès à la piscine du toit est interdite. L'hôtel possède un gymnase et une belle salle de musculation. Location de voiture possible directement à l'accueil de l'hôtel.

I will start with the good points. The rooms are spacious, the beds and pillows are really comfortable. The staff are always cleaning, everywhere is clean. Rooms are cleaned daily. The pool was lovely and warm. We used the rooftop area for sunbathing, they have a toilet up there, they have beer and soft drinks on tap, but the wines on tap weren't working. There is a small roof top pool, but closed off, so couldn't use. Now for the buffet restaurant. Food was ok, always found something to eat. I love Omelettes in a morning, but they didn't do them every day, the chef one morning had been making Omelettes, I could see traces , but when I asked for one the chef said only fried eggs, disappointed to say the least . The bar staff . Well some were really lovely and friendly, two girls in particular made our holiday one was called Aracelli she was always smiling, really friendly girl, another one, don't know if this is correct Bayer, not sure how to spell her name, again she was so lovely. Entertainment hit and miss, saw 4 really good singers while we were there 11 nights, the compere guy was very friendly with the Spanish, French , all the foreign people that were staying at the hotel, but English not very friendly.one night he was dj playing different songs, I went up and asked him to play a song for me, he said no more this is the last song. The cheak of him played another three songs for the French who were on the dance floor, I was so annoyed. All customers should be treated the same. The reception staff were lovely. Very helpful and friendly. Would I come back, maybe for a cheap holiday, overall I enjoyed my holiday, the hotel was central to everything, just some of the staff need to be more welcoming.

Really enjoyable week at this hotel and would definitely stay again. Some people give negative comments about this place but hey, you can't please everyone. Everywhere is clean and cleaners visit every day to do the rooms. Rooms are functional, roomy and shower is nice and warm. Pool area has plenty of beds but if you want to keep the sun try and get one on the side of the pool opposite reception. Staff are very friendly and if you tip the bar staff regularly, they will keep you well hydrated. Food was very good and plentiful with different meats cooked in front of you every night. The Chickpea stew was very nice. The hotel is also in a great location for bars and restaurants, just take a left or right and you can't go wrong. I recommend Hotspot by the police station for a few leisurely drinks through the day. A visit to Pieros Music Bar is also a recommendation.

The location of the hotel is ideal as it’s only a few minutes walk into the Centre. Caleta is quite a small area. We walked from the hotel down to the Marina on the sidewalk then followed it round and went to the open air market (Tues and Saturday) then walked back down through Caleta. It was just two miles. Having read previous reviews we always go with an open mind. It was good to see that they had ensured the heated pool was working and I can say it was the best heated one I’ve been in. We are fussy eaters and as soon as the restaurant opened we would go in. In my opinion the food was poor to average with it being cold to Luke warm and it had just opened. We chose to eat out in the evening and had amazing reasonable food at FADO ROCK. My wife was disappointed that they didn’t cook omelettes every day. It was every third day which was a bit bizarre. Especially as the Chef was cooking fried eggs every day. In the Dining Room there were 3 broken tiles in one area near the toaster that were a trip hazard. We witnessed a couple of people tripping over that area. The Adult roof area was spacious and quiet. We were very disappointed that both pools on the roof were still not working. When I read the reviews back I noticed it was reported in early December. I am sure the Management are doing their best to improve standards.

Super relaxing stay at the hotel. The staff are so pleasant and welcoming. Great pool that’s warm at this time of year (January). The staff work so hard to keep everyone happy. There is a wide range of food available so much so that you can compile your own plate of your choice. Had some great fish, meat and salads. A week wasn’t enough away from the weather at home it’s been like a bright summer’s day in England here. Next year we’ll come for at least a fortnight.
