This hotel is a hidden gem and I almost don't want to share how wonderful it is in case I miss out on a room in the future! What can I say? Everything was perfect from beginning to end. Upon arrival, we were given cava whilst we checked in and our bags were taken to our room. We booked a suite and it was perfect. We chose the pillows we wanted from the pillow menu, something my husband particularly appreciated as he always has pillow issues in hotels! Our evening meals were fantastic! Buffet starters were plentiful and delicious. Main courses were served with a fantastic choice, including two specials a day. Breakfast had everything you could possibly want, including freshly squeezed orange juice and eggs freshly prepared to your liking. All staff encountered were happy, helpful and couldn't do enough for you. The hotel is immaculate and so very pretty. As the hotel is small, it feels so private and special. I've never felt so relaxed anywhere in the world. Needless to say we are returning next year and cannot wait! Thank you to the deputy manager, Pilar, who personally showed me another room in the hotel I might like and spent time talking me through the benefits. She also sent us a gift of chocolates and cava to our room on our last evening! Can it really get any better? Well done Elba Palace - we will be home again soon!

Why would anyone come back to a hotel for the 29th time in 8 years ? Is it because the hotel is beautifully designed in a colonial style with the most ornate of features or possibly the wonderful food including the a la carte dinner choice or could it be the immaculately clean rooms, or the calmness and serenity of the swimming pool area, or the great choice of drinks and cocktails or the wonderful welcome as you arrive - it could be all of these but actually it is the wonderful staff who make this hotel what it is. Pilar the Deputy Manager is the Queen of the Palace with her fabulous charm and wonderful charisma, she inspires both staff and guests alike. Nothing is ever too much and she will do anything and everything to make the guests stay fabulous. Ali the King of the Palace runs the bars and restaurants and all the catering team with sophistication and ease ably supported by a wonderful serving team many of whom have been here for a long time such as Laura, Theresa ( both of who have looked after us for many years) Jamelia (thank you for our table every morning) and Andrea and with some impressive new staff . The cocktails here are excellent and wonderfully presented by Nuria, Mulud you have your work cut out when you return next week. Aneta manages the reception incredibly well and always greets you with a welcoming smile and amazing knowledge and humour supported very well by Camila and Valerie. Lupe and her team ensure everywhere is immaculate and Elba the cat ensures no-one misses their pets at home. If you want modern architecture, bright lights and modern music this isn’t the place for you. If you want class, sophistication, serenity and somewhere to support your well being this is it. Thanks to all the team that make this hotel so fabulous and best wishes to the new General Manager Mercedes for the future. Elba Palace the jewel in any crown!

We just returned from a very enjoyable week at the Elba Palace. The staff were very helpful, the service was fantastic. We only ate in the hotel and every meal was excellent. The drinks in the bar were very reasonably priced, the Sangria was very good. We had to leave early on the last day and they prepared an excellent continental breakfast for us and delivered it to the room. We will certainly return next year.

Hotel was very good as you would expect for a 5 star. We did not go there for the golfing activities, as this was a quiet break for the 2 of us. The golf looked good and would be the main reason for going there as the location was a fair way out from the seafront bars and eateries. There was an infrequent shuttle bus as the walk was a considerable distance, but it did not run every day as expected when we were there. The breakfast was fine, and the evening meals were ok, but unfortunately we thought the selection of main courses was a bit disappointing, so we made up for it with the ‘help yourself’ starter and dessert courses. Overall it was nice and relaxing with a very pleasant pool to laze around during the daytime. Which was good as there was nowhere else nearby to go to. No small independent bar or cafe at all due to the remoteness.

I don't understand most of the previous positive reviews having spent time at this hotel recently. The food is limited, poor quality, bland and at times cold when served (the ice cream trolley looked like something out of Fawlty Towers). And that is at breakfast and dinner. The bar has zero atmosphere and you constantly wait for a drink because they only had one bar person who is overworked. The room was OK at best but very tired. No pool bar. Grumpy golf attendant who confiscated my range balls. Reception staffed by people who seemed to lack even the basic knowledge (can we hire bikes...don't know and no desire to find out, do you know if there are any tennis courts...no etc etc). Most of the staff seem very nice but the whole experience was very average which is a shame because it could be very good. Sadly it was not.
