If you want to spend your vacation waiting in lines, this is the right place to go. There are lines for almost everything: breakfast, lunch or dinner, ordering a drink at any bar, or even asking for simple information at reception. There were only two elevators in the area around my room. During the week I was there, in the middle of high season (August), one never worked. As to the rest, it's a very ordinary mega-hotel, neither good nor bad, which won't stay in my memory.

Stayed for the first time as a family of three for a week. Enjoyed our stay overall, had a nice break and made lovely memories. Facilities We stayed in a standard double room. Bed and mattress was very comfortable (for me at least, not my husband). Our 4 year old slept on the sofa bed, the bed frame is metal and very hard. Thankfully, it didn’t bother our daughter but I would have not liked to sleep there. Room was cleaned well, bathroom only had a shower (no bath) but glad that didn’t cause problems with our daughter as she generally isn’t a fan of showers but has accepted her ‘fate’ for the short week. Pools are saltwater and asides from stinging the eyes was actually fun to swim in. I joined in one morning for yoga and really loved it. They offer a variety of adult activities. Disappointedly the beach is not part of the resort although it’s right across the road (pedestrian) and you have to pay for sun beds €10.5 per day. Kids activities Kids club and kids disco were a hit. Foam/bubble party was great fun, all kids and grown ups had a blast. Staff work hard but only a couple that were exceptionally friendly. Food Food lets this place down though. I’d rate it 3/5 at most. We got so bored of the same food very day and there was just no soul to it. Nothing authentic either. We got two tokens to use in their a la carte restaurant (Mexican and Brazilian) and food was exceptional there! So they KNOW how to do good food but obviously (making assumptions here) it’s not something they can extend to offer on the all inclusive basis. Location We loved the location of the hotel. 15 mins shuttle ride from airport was included in our package. We were the only passengers so it was a private shuttle by luck. Shops and marina with things to see and do on each end of the resort. The whole strip is owned by Barceló and only by chance did we learn that our all inclusive allowed us order drinks from a few cafes on the Marina. No one explained this to us at check in. We also learnt that we can use the next door’s hotel Buffet (Castillo) but again no one actually openly explained it to us. I felt I had to double check. I also presume we can use their pool and kids club but again I feel unsure?! Overall, yes we loved our stay but wished some things were better. Probably would look to come back at some point in the future.
