Do not be put off staying here because of some negative reviews. The place needs updating and is a bit scruffy in parts but is made up tenfold by the lovely helpful staff, the pool bar and renovated (cold) lovely pool and the cleanliness of all areas. It is central to everything, beach, shops and so many restaurants! Breakfast at the Trefalgar (left at reception), curry on the corner very good Punjabi Masala. Fillet steak at Goose and Ferkin. All food at Lins and look for Milo Sun Steakhouse upstairs on road to bus station. Any problems will be sorted by reception.

We have just arrived home from a weeks stay at the Puerto Caleta apartments. We were not happy having to hire kettles and toaster when we had gone self catering, not everyone one want to eat out every morning. We like to have a leisurely breakfast then most days go to the pool. Even though there are signs about putting towels on sunbeds this happened every day and the people who had put the towels on were not turning up to the pool until later afternoon preventing others using the sunbeds and people having to use the pool bar steps to sit on causing problems with access to the bar. The apartments and the pool bar are very tired and do need an upgrade. Along with the paths which are very uneven and not good for people who are unsteady on their feet . Also I think the hotel should let people know before there booking are confirmed about the noise come on the building site across the road 7:30 to 18:00 hours 5 days a week. There should also be WiFi available in every room. Some people with children rely on this to keep them entertained in the evening. We enjoyed our stay overall, but with some updates these apartments would be perfect as the location is very good. The gloss was knocked off by these issues.

Stayed last week it's lovely and clean very basic, near pubs shops beaches, staff are lovely pool very clean ,no kettle enjoy it will stay again , need extra blankets got them straight away ,the only thing there is building going on across the road ad they started every morning at 8 ad finished at 6

Staff were really lovely, they helped us book a taxi when our shuttle service ever showed up. The room we stayed in had two single beds, it was a comfortable size bedroom and the actual hotel room had pleasant lounging spaces too. The hotel rooms are basic in the sense that it is nothing extraordinarily fancy or elaborate. Nonetheless, the hotel staff were lovey and kind, the pool area was great, cleanliness across the hotel was never an issue.

Booked this as a quick breakaway in between Christmas and new year, it’s been over 20 years since we last visited the resort and tbh wasn’t expecting too much, just a nice break in the sun…….wow what a lovely surprise we had…..we had booked a pool view apartment and requested a upstairs one and we were lucky enough to be allocated one of the refurbished apartments and it was beautiful. It was bright and modern, very clean and had a brilliant sunny terrace with sun beds and table and chairs, I couldn’t fault anything about the apartments. The staff were are lovely and helpful. The location of these apartments is brilliant, so central perfect for the beach or the local shops, bars and restaurants. Teamed up with the brilliant weather I couldn’t have asked for anything else. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend these apartments and will definitely be back again.
