Seriously can not fault this place. From beginning to end staff were amazing. Being an Essex girl I have to big up our book in lady, originally from Clacton, Essex. So welcoming. Room standard Premier Inn so what we needed. Hospitality table in reception for extra tea, sugar, milk etc. Room spotless. My partner, disabled and rarely have stayed from home, was impressed when I produced the two spare pillows. Location peaceful. We were overlooking the (I think) river Calder. Other side a busy road. We had windows open overnight hardly heard a thing. A kind of rumble in the background. Slept better than I do at home. Breakfast: kind of surprised at the cost initially, thought expensive, but proved wrong. Approx £11-12 per head (April 2025) Loads of cereals. Pastries. Toast. Juice. Tea (big choice) ,Coffee. Then cooked breakfast. Unlike some this isn’t buffet. My advice? Say exactly what you want. Eg. 2 eggs, 2 sausage, 3 bacon etc. You get what you ask for so can’t complain. I got exact what I asked for. The lady (dyed red hair) was so friendly and efficient. Love her. So, is there anything I can gripe about? Possibly places of local interest? But totally splitting hairs. Loved our stay here. .

The hotel its self is located in a nice area next to the river and has a really nice pub next door where can have a nice spot of dinner and a nice drink. The hotel its self is clean and tidy and the rooms are also very good standard. I just found the staff a little too rude as I wanted to book a reservation next door but they said you can’t book and when I went over the place was full and they told me that you can book but the receptionist at hotel probably couldn’t be bothered. So for that reason I give 3 star down to lazy staff

Great sized room, brilliant service from the check inn assistant and a lovely touch of Easter eggs in the room for the kids (we checked in on Easter Sunday). One of the kids beds was tiny and very firm and we found a random glove under the bed, so not sure how often it gets deep cleaned. Breakfast was great value.

Short stay weekend away. Hotel quiet , but clean. Plenty of parking. Staff friendly, and helpful. Obe in room found clean, comfortable and well stocked. Even when had an issue with the tv, reported straight away and was dealt with quickly and promptly. Breakfast-fantastic and worth the money. Plenty of choices from cereal, drink, pastries to hot cooked meal. Worth every penny and staff great. Theirs a pub at the top of the car park which is worth a vist. As the hotel is off the main road, your need some form of transport, but worth the views though.

We were unlucky. The hotel was very bad. The room smelled like sewage. Bathroom is old and dirty. Room is old and smelly. The bed is very high to climb on. No fridge. No phone. bad wifi. heating does not work. Not to be repeated. We have submitted our complaint to the reception.
