As a loyal TUI customer for over 20 years, I’ve come to expect high standards from their holidays. Sadly, my recent experience at Insotel Cala Mandía Resort & Spa was disappointing, and I am now reluctant to book with TUI again. When we booked, the resort was advertised as 5-star, only to find out later it had been downgraded to 4-star. In reality, the experience felt more like a 3-star at best. We encountered multiple issues: Substandard room quality: The accommodation was far from luxurious and fell below the advertised standard. Poor hygiene: Cleanliness, especially in the pool areas, left a lot to be desired. Rude staff: Two pool bar staff members were particularly unprofessional and disrespectful. We raised these concerns with the on-site TUI Head Representative, who assured us they would be addressed. However, after the holiday, TUI dismissed our complaint, claiming there was "no recorded evidence," despite the photos we provided. Their response was a generic apology with no resolution or compensation offered. After 20+ years of choosing TUI, this experience has shaken my trust. I would urge other travelers to carefully research resorts and manage expectations, as what’s advertised may not reflect reality. Final Thoughts: The resort did not deliver on its advertised standards, and TUI’s aftercare was inadequate. This experience has left me reluctant to recommend or book with TUI in the future.
