Hotel Atolon

We spent 5 days at Hotel Atolon in September. The location is perfect, with beautiful views. The hotel is split into 2 blocks, one is the main part, containing the restaurant and pool area. The pool area overlooks the sea. The other block behind is purely rooms and they separated only by a path. We were in the block behind and were one of very few lucky ones to get one of the sea view room., as we were on the top floor. The location of the hotel was ideal for us. Situated in Cala Bona, with only a short walk to Cala Millor. The beach at Cala Millor is beautiful. €14 euros for 2 loungers, umbrella and a beach safe, which is a fantastic idea. The food was good, not great. Breakfast was better, and there was free juice, water, tea and coffee. These were not included in the evening meal, which is a shame. There was a counter where you could get stir fry, or steaks and fish. The hot counter was a little hit and miss. Also salads, sushi, fresh bread and starters were available. It is a small hotel, so it's understandable that choice would be limited. The hotel has just rebranded to Jet2 "Vibe". Not sure this is accurate, as it gives the impression it's a party hotel in a party location. It's not. This is not a complaint on our part. But if you are looking for this, Magaluf is a fantastic place to go, not Cala Bona. There are some good bars and restaurants close by. The music bar is amazing, drinks are a good price, with live music and pool tables We had a late check out for €50. It is a very good 3 star hotel. Not a 4 star, and the prices reflect this. We would definitely return. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and the rooms are cleaned every day. The location is ideal and the views beautiful. We had a fantastic time, and for what we paid thought it was great value.

Not long back from a fabulous week in Spain and thought I'd share my experience of the hotel. Location: The Atolon is a lovely small hotel in-between Cala Bona and Cala Millor - both beaches approximately a 5-minute walk in either direction. That said, the hotel is sea front, although it is placed on a very small pebbled beach. There are plenty of restaurants, excursions and shops close by and a lovely little port in Cala Bona. Hotel: the hotel was fairly modern and clean and all staff were friendly; the twin chefs in particular were very jovial and friendly. The pool area is clean and well maintained with plenty of sun loungers for the size of the hotel. However, the rooms were tiny, we had a twin (two single beds) and a tiny fridge and a TV. That was all there was room for and certainly not the 4* we had expected. The bathroom was clean and tidy and we also had a sea view from our room. No tea/coffee facilities. The restaurant was sufficient, as mentioned the chefs were great... There was always plenty of food, which consisted of a buffet of main dishes, as well as about 5/6 fresh dishes cooked daily. There were also a large selection of starters and desserts, fresh bread and continental food - such variety! Breakfast was similar, freshly cooked food, continental and lots of fruit, yogurt and pastries. My overall take is that the hotel is a solid 3*. Small hotel, great staff and food but the rooms are really small with a small fridge and no ice box. Not quite what we're used to but the weather was great and we had a great time! 😎

First impressions- wow. Stunning pool area, bright, modern decor, beach club… The Atolon is a lovely small hotel. Spotlessly clean with friendly and helpful staff. The pool area is beautiful and we never had an issue getting sun loungers together (there were 6 of us). Rooms are spotless but very compact with very little storage - it didn’t bother me but the space could have been better used to house shelving / draws rather than a desk that was quite pointless. Also a kettle was provided but no tea/ coffee/ milk? The restaurant could be a little hit & miss.. a very good selection at each meal time, and generally very good quality, but some food going cold - needs heat lamps to keep cooked food warm. Staff struggled to keep tables set and get them cleared. Staff carrying worrying amounts of dirty crockery over a potentially slippery floor - maybe invest in a couple of trolleys to save your workers’ arms and to avoid any incidents! My overall take is that the hotel is not quite sure what it’s aiming for. The beach club was usually empty, didn’t serve snacks and it was a little pretentious on what was “allowed” there. The demographic I saw in Cala Bona generally isn’t the Bali bed / house music /beach club type of cliente. They’d be better off having a nice little snack bar, sack off the Bali beds and increase the seating - also change the style of furniture as the chairs are incredibly uncomfortable! Santigo (?) is an asset to the hotel and is always happy & smiling. So yes I’d certainly recommend the hotel but I do think some parts could be improved.

Un hotel increíble. Sus vistas son inmejorables y se encuentra situado justo en el paseo marítimo, junto a cala millor. Tenemos que destacar el trabajo del personal. Grandes profesionales que hicieron que nuestra estancia fuese maravillosa. Destacamos el servicio de cocina, por ser maravilloso. Es uno de los mejores buffets que hemos probado. Comida muy tradicional española y hecha en el momento por los cocineros. Es muy importante que los clientes sepan... que los platos a elegir están de exposición, y en el momento, los cocineros te hacen el que quieras. Increíble, como cenar a la carta todas las noches. Los mellizos grandes profesionales que están pendientes del cliente en todo momento, y que le ponen mucho amor a su trabajo. Al igual que el resto del personal que atendía el comedor todos los días. Y voy a destacar a Paula, una persona muy joven, que estaba aprendiendo, y la cual se merece nuestra enhorabuena, porque a pesar de su juventud, trabajaba como nadie! No nos olvidamos tampoco, del servicio de socorrismo y piscina. Nuestra estancia ha sido maravillosa, y volveremos, seguramente siendo 3. Un abrazo inmenso desde la mancha Silvia, Tomás y Gabriel (que sigue en la barrigota). Volveremos a vernos!

Just stayed at the atolon and what a brilliant view! We had a front facing room and it was worth it,listening to the waves at night, perfect! The room is good,plenty of electric sockets,fridge,free safe! Lovely and clean and the staff did a great job! Breakfast was plentiful, loads of choices! Enjoyed the omelettes and food cooked fresh but the scrambled eggs,baked beans etc what is stood on warm up plates were all cold! Same on an evening the rice was cold and other food which is stood! The staff are great apart from one chef which I think he would rather be somewhere else and seemed to sigh every time he was putting something on the grill! Don’t think he enjoys his job on a morning! The rest are so helpful and reception staff great! Overall a great little hotel but if I stayed again I would probably only go bed & breakfast! The beds and pillows are fantastic by the way !

First time at this hotel. Nothing bad to say. The staff were so friendly, the place was really clean. We only did b&b but you can't fault the quality and the choice of food. The views were to die for. Well done Hotel Atolon, we will be back like nant others.

We have been here twice before and loved it, it’s fantastic entertainment was the main reason for us returning. However this spring the entertainment area was replaced with Bali beds. There was not entertainment at all despite it being advertised on the Jet2 website. The Bali beds were not doing very well, we only saw 4 occupied during our whole week. Luckily it made us explore more venues for entertainment, and we spent the rest of the week at the Cala Bona Hotel which had superb bands and atmosphere every night. After 3 visits we won’t go back now, if we do visit Cala Bona again we will stay at the Cala Bona Hotel

Atolon is a beautiful Hotel in a perfect location, we had a stunning front sea view, expensive but worth it. The food was lovely, breakfast and evening meal really enjoyable. Staff really friendly and helpful. Swimming pool really lovely and relaxing and never had a problem getting sunbeds. Would have given 5 rating if they still had entertainment there. We chose this hotel because we’ve seen how great the entertainment was in previous years. Sadly the stage has been removed and replaced with beach club Bali beds and a restaurant that just don’t work for this hotel. We barely saw anyone use the beach club beds and the restaurant was always empty. We would have bought lunch here most days but they don’t offer a lunch menu, the Asian Fusion menu was overpriced and unappealing, meaning many guests brought drinks and snacks from the supermarket to eat round the pool instead. We didn’t stay in the hotel in the evening as without the entertainment there’s just no atmosphere, this is such a shame as it was fantastic in the evening the last couple of years and they must be losing so much trade! We still think the Hotel is beautiful, can’t be beaten on location and so relaxing by the pool, just sad as we know what we’re missing out on from previous years. PLEASE BRING BACK THE ENTERTAINMENT!!

This should be top of your list! What a beautiful setting. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Rooms are clean and have everything you need. Staff are attentive and food at the new beach club is stunning. Can’t recommend highly enough! 5stars!!
