Edge Apartments Cairns

The manager of the property is friendly and welcoming. The apartment is spacious. However, I have to say the apartment is bit of disappointing. I understand the weather during the time is humid and wet due to raining. But there is cockroaches in the bedroom and ants on the bed. So maybe need to do some pest control before opening to guest? Also the room is not bright and is bit dark all the time. Moreover the bed sheets is bit of dirty as well. Toilet is clean which not an issue, but it is bit old and wardrobe is old as some places is broken need to upgrade or fix. Usually because we have kids, even it is not 5 star hotel or anything but at least I think clean and tidy is the very important thing for the accommodation. It is also bit of misleading on the advertisement because overall I do not think it should count as 4 star apartment OR it needs to put the correct photos for which room is related to. Also, this is not the walking distance to the city central and you need to have a car for more convenience otherwise you need to take taxi or other transport; so please be aware of.

Self check-in and out. Reasonable price range. Clean and spacious apartments, especially for families with teenagers. No wi-fi connections - Good family quality time together. Elevator access. Overall enjoyed our stay 😊

Disappointed Unfortunately my last stay at Edge Apartments was disappointing! We were there with family from NSW to see my son March for Anzac Day . The apartment we got for 4 adults was smelly especially in the second bedroom! Also the outside lighting lit up this room every night which made it hard to get to sleep ! Beds requested wasn’t met ! My husband & I had to sleep in single beds! The furnishing is dated & not modern like I have had before ! Our remote control for the undercover car park never worked & our car had to be parked outside ! I messaged the caretaker but every time I went passed the office it was closed ! I was sent a message by him to say he was in the complex but we were out all day sight seeing ! After the battery was replaced on our last day there the remote still did not work ! Did some washing & the lint compartment was full as & looked like it had never been cleaned! The dryer is noisy & I think the drum is scraping the sides . On a positive note the apartment is a generous size and was equipped with all the basic necessities ! Sorry My feedback is not the best !

The apartments are clean but very basic - certainly no frills and a bit soulless. It was quite noisy, with lots of traffic noise, planes overhead and other residents. It's not very central; a solid 30 minute walk to the centre, and part of it is quite dark at night so if you don't have a car I think it would be inconveniently located. Also, there is no wifi (apparently there is wifi in the 'common area' on the ground floor, but it didn't work for us at all and even if it did, I don't know where you would sit in that space to use it) and we all struggled even with our phone data, so that was a bit annoying.

Unit was spacious but needs a bit of attention to detail.

Greg's welcome was lovely and he made himself available to check me in late due to a delayed flight. The apartment is lovely. I was able to cook in the kitchen which was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this property and host. Julia
