I booked this room as I had a really early meeting the next day and did not want to get up at 3AM to be there on time. It was almost midnight when I checked in, which was not an issue. However, when I got to check in the clerk informed me that she did not have the room that I had booked, a King non-smoking, available. She said she had a smoking room and I told her I did not care about the size of the bed as long as it was non-smoking. So, she put me in a full-sized double, non-smoking. She gave me my key card and I drove around to the back of the building to my room. I stood outside in the dark for 5 minutes trying to get my key card to work. It would turn green, but the door would not unlock. Once I finally got that to work, I enter what is obviously a smoking room. I turn around to lock the security lock and it won't close. I had to put my weight against the door and pull up on the door handle before the lock would slide into position. I added the security chain and that is when I noticed that I could see the outside lights through the door jam. I turned around to place my backpack on the table and what do I see?? An ashtray and matches. I thought I would just call the clerk and began looking for the telephone. No telephone. I thought, I can do this. It is only for 4 hours. So, I walk to the heater, as it was about 20 degrees outside, I turn it on, and it starts squeaking. By this time, I just have to laugh. I pull back the bed covers, and the sheets at least look clean. I start to walk toward the bathroom when the heater quits. So, I walked back to see what was going on. I start turning knobs and opening anything that looks like it would open. That turns out to be two air filters, which were clogged. That is when I notice the air vent, seen in the attached pictures, it has mold, mildew and dirt caking it. I just turned the heater back off and walked away. I finally get into bed and I am freezing. I get back up to look for an extra blanket. That is when I see the dresser drawers do not open. I finally stripped the covers off the extra bed, added them to mine, and turned on the hot water in the shower. The bed linens consisted of a very thin spread, one thin blanket under that and the sheet. The additional linen from the extra bed did not help much. However, there was very hot water and I just left it running. I laid back down, planning to get up in about 15 minutes and turn off the water when I thought, what do I care, I am not paying the bill. I woke up about two hours later with my room full of steam, it was warm. I turned off the water and went back to sleep. I will note the water was still hot. To finish up, the room was dirty, cold, had maintenance issues, security issues and smelled of smoke. The clerk straight out lied about the room. There was hot water. I also note that I did not turn on the TV, did not enter the lobby (it was locked when I checked in), the pool appeared to be cemented in, and I left before breakfast. I would no
