Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa

We had a very nice stay at the Cable Beach Resort. The location next to the beach is great and watching the sunset from the Grill was a real treat. The staff were friendly and very helpful. And we even had kangaroos on the lawn each evening. The only small minuses include: the hotel needs some updating as the floors, doors and beds were a little worn. The restaurant menus were a little limited. However, these did not really detract from an excellent stay. Tip: We were in room 229 of the Bougainvillea building. We had a nice ocean view, excellent sunsets and the kangaroos hung out right outside the room for extra free entertainment. This is a great room location.

I’ve just spent 3 nights at cable beach club resort and spa the grounds are lovely well kept , the tennis and basketball courts apparently recently renovated . Shame about the rooms they seem not to have had any renovation or simple maintenance since I last stayed 20 years ago The rooms are dark although large The bathroom was very tired, the exhaust fan sounded like a freight train coming I had a room that had a slight view of the ocean pool , this pool is restricted to adults which is great , the deck around the pool is dark brown wood decking it is very hot to walk on and very slippery when wet . This seems to me a very strange combination for a pool surround A cocktail was $25 and on public holidays another 15% I returned to my room one night to find that the tv was not working when I called reception for help I was told that the IT people had gone home for the day and it would not be able to be fixed till the next day I found this very disappointing and unbelievable in a hotel that I was paying $600 a night The rooms contained nothing of what I would expect in an 5 star hotel such as robes , bathrooms slippers, mini bar All the staff were very, but seemed to local information wrong I don’t know that I would stay here again Everything in Broome is expensive

Very impressed with the maintenance and upkeep of Resort Cleanliness was excellent as were the gardens As for location ... amazing! Sue from Guest Relations was wonderful Facilities to use there were very well maintained and enjoyable to use Beds and pillows were exceptional in comfort A lot to be commended on with this resort stay

Its location on Cable Beach was perfect and we loved the Sunset bar and restaurant. The facilities, especially the two beautiful pool areas were great. Our accommodation not so great. The garden bungalow has a strange layout, the veranda had been converted to make the indoor space larger. It didn't feel like 5* more like 3.5*. Bed sheets itchy, bathroom dated, overall quite dark and dingy.

The rooms are fine, however the long wait from 12:45 in the afternoon to 20 to five before the room was ready was beyond a joke. ( check in is from three pm though) We also required twin accommodation and confirmed a total of seven times over the long wait with various staff that the room would in fact have two beds, but when we finally got to the room, Guess what? Only one bed! So once again we had to wait for the room to be made ready for us. We were supposed to meet our group for dinner at 7 pm according to the printed information supplied to us by reception on arrival. Approximately 6.15 we got a phone call from reception saying that they’ve made a mistake and we were supposed to be at dinner at 6 o’clock, and could we go straight away. The lighting for moving around at night from one area to the other and the restaurant is extremely subtle… And needs to be brighter around some of those footpath’s. They do supply “do it yourself” laundry facilities, however the dryer in our building wasn’t working properly. A staff member brought us a bottle of champagne as an apology for the long wait for the room, which was nice, but having worked in hotels I know it’s is not that hard to get a room prepared correctly. For the cost, it was not a good experience and would stay at Sea Shells instead

Based on our experience we would not stay at Cable Beach Club on our next visit to Broome unless there was a radical shake up in the resort. It seemed to be clearly trading on its prior reputation and was not a 5 star resort, based on our travel it equates to what we get in a 3.5 star. There were positives but the negatives far more. Many of the negatives could be easily fixed but there were just so many of them they cumulatively made the experience not live up to expectations. Positives Bags got to room by themself without chasing and were picked up and available for transfers to air port - porter service was excellent Room was good size and if updated would be a real feature Adult pool is very pleasant Grounds are nice Spa was good Negatives (in no particular order and with suggested solutions) L’Occitane products in bathroom which was good but no body wash - provide body wash as well as shampoo conditioner and body milk. Not eco friendly as little bottles of bathroom things - solution put in large refillable bottles in shower & bathroom sink Bottom draw in wardrobe could not open as ran into track for wardrobe - lift draws and put on base frame. Not a lot of storage - put shelving under tv Tv had no cable Chanel’s only free to air but did have good movie selections - provide a standard cable package Only one courtesy bus into town a day and you needed to book several days in advance, when we came to try and book in the morning and was told it was full the solution offered was to the public bus timetable (which does not run after dark in any case) - solution put on a shuttle bus on an hourly or 1/2 hourly timetable to take guests to and from town. At the room rates being charged this should be covered. Did not warn us we needed to book on site nice restaurants (when they are open) well in advance (I think before you arrived) therefore cannot comment on food offerings as we did not really eat on site. When we were turned away from one we were told only option was the pub style sunset grill. Instead we booked off site and had really nice meals at Bali Hai, Papa Fuego and Sausage Johnnys. All these are recommended but you will need cabs. Solution at a minimum let guests know at check in to make reservations or better still increase availability so we could get in. no room service Pools were all pebble Crete - a personal aversion of my wife. No mini bar -provide on No on site bar open after about 9pm - we were turned away as closing when we got back from dinner. Coffee in room was just instant no coffee machine in room - install pod coffee machine. Water in room was single disposable plastic bottle with instruction to refill - spend extra $ and give everyone a branded reusable water bottle which would then give branding in reuse outside resort. No concierge, There was a tour desk but it closed mid afternoon - should operate till mid evening and provide full concierge services. Buildings while clean and well maintained

A very relaxing & peaceful holiday spot ... offers everything you need with great pools great bars & restaurants & exceptional friendly staff at ALL levels. Close to a beautiful beach & transport offered for the airport & town. A must do for that special getaway

Spectacular place to stay in Broome, from the warm welcome by the staff to the amazing ocean view room, relaxing poolside facilities, and unbelievable array of restaurants. Our room was modern and clean and grounds beautifully maintained with Roo's hopping around. The breakfast buffet is one of the best we've seen, catering for many different dietary requirements with a special call out for the amazing GF selection, the Sunset Bar is a great place to watch the sun set or to sit and relax the evening away.

We are part of a party of travelers with APT -19 pax. My partner and I waited over an hour after check in time. Others in our group were checked in a little after 2pm and other arrivals were checked in before us. Explanation - room was not ready yet. Not one single detail on when or how long the room would be ready. No apology - just a check to see if we were BOOKED INTO THE SAME ROOM FOR BOTH NIGHTS!!!!! Paid for porterage but bags not delivered to room. Surely they could have been delivered while room was being serviced. Not sure this organization copes with holiday crowds. Next time we will revert to the Oaks where we usually stay when visiting Broome.
