Quality Inn Grand Rapids South-Byron Center

The check-in went great, and the room was clean and very nice. The TV was great, and the microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator were all clean and working. We came for the hot tub and were not disappointed! This place is nice with plenty of parking. I would stay here again; the front desk staff was amazing, very friendly, and went out of their way to accommodate me and my husband. Nice to have that professionalism nowadays. Plus, it was very close to good eating and drinking establishments in Grand Rapids.

Stayed thanksgiving night to be ready for the snow fall (as we are snowplow drivers). The room was great and planned on using the hotel throughout the plowing season. However they tried double charging us, 5 hours after we checked out to go plow after. When I got the alert from my back I called right away, we told I had just called in and told the front desk lady to charge my cards again. I told her I did no such thing and asked her to cancel the charges, which she did but at the same time charged me again. When I called back she told me she did no such thing. So I stopped working and drove straight back there where she continued to called me and my bank and then my husband liars refusing to refund the charge. I can and did provide all the proof, of what had transpired, including call log from my phone carried showing no call until I noticed the charges and bank statement on my app. Ended up having to call corporate since front desk lady refused to do anything (she wouldn't even give us corporates # until my husband treated to get the cops involved). When calling corporate got nothing but run around till finally was able to speaking with someone who was no help at all. Had to end up calling bank and report a fraudulent claim to get my money back. Will NEVER step foot in that hotel EVER again nor will I EVER recommend that place to anyone!!! Being snowplow drivers who regularly grabs room during the winter months To get some sleep and a hot shower, sucks for them because up till this happen the husband and I were planning on using this hotel all winter long

I was pleasantly surprised, the room was clean and easy to access, the front desk staff was super friendly. Just and FYI there was no elevator that I saw however the stairs to the second floor were easy to navigate.

We just returned from staying at this hotel. It was very average. The lobby was clean and inviting. The staff was friendly. The pool area was decent: bright, with plenty of places to sit. The breakfast was a standard hotel breakfast. It had the basics, but nothing more than the basics. I feel like since nearly every hotel now offers breakfast, it stands out when a hotel just does enough and this hotel just did enough. The room was clean, but the overall hotel was a bit grubby. It looked like an older property that has been remodeled several times. They're keeping it up, but it's also looking worn. Back to the room, the bed was comfy. The AC worked, but it had an annoying rattle. I liked that they pulled out the carpeting and replaced with laminate. One off thing was that you could not close the bathroom door without hitting the edge of the toilet bowl. You had to pull hard to close it. The room had the basic amenities: fridge, hair dryer, coffee maker, fridge. All in all, this is a decent place to stay if you need a place to crash. The price was right, the room was clean. Yeah, it's showing some age, but we never felt grossed out.
