The Inn on Pamlico Sound

Right on par with ANY fare, service, or ambience that we’ve experienced in the region - including Charleston SC, probably one of the most competitive restaurant markets there is. Use any superlatives you can think of, add the Pamlico Cafe & you can say you saw it written in Reviews. The attention to detail, the friendliness and top-drawer attitude of the staff - Don't miss it, it’s fabulous!

In March of this year my wife and I had the pleasure of spending two nights at the Inn on Pamlico Sound. What a great, relaxing experience! Our room was spacious and well appointed. We were on the top floor with a covered deck overlooking Pamlico Sound and gorgeous sunsets. All of the staff members with whom we had contact were friendly and welcoming. During our stay we enjoyed meeting new folks at the bar and consumed much delicious food in the cafe. I especially enjoyed the afternoon cookie tray in the foyer! March is very laid back on Hatteras Island and was a great time to visit.

We love Hatteras Island for its wildly beautiful beaches and its truly casual atmosphere. The Inn on Pamlico captures a bit of that beauty with open and expansive views of the Pamlico Sound from its restaurant and its hotel. They open their windows to enjoy the breezes and the enchanting sounds of the marsh. Guests have direct access to the sound and to the lovely gardens on their grounds. Noticing what’s beautiful is more important at the Inn than dressing in a certain way or following rules. The owner and staff are friendly and helpful, which makes staying in their comfortable rooms a relaxing experience. No hoops to jump through, just clean and comfy spaces that are oriented to natural beauty. We love the casual elegance and charm of the Inn.

I love this place! However the food is inconsistent. Too much salt on breakfast items where it doesn’t belong. I got the filet with the poached lobster/crab and there was a very little amount for the cost. $65.00 with lobster/crab or $44.00 without. Too much salt again on veggies and in potatoes.

We have always wanted to spend a few days here so when we booked a week at a house we decided to extend our stay by 3 days at the Inn. So glad we did. Service was excellent. Rooms were small but comfy. We stayed in a king sound front. It was nice and quiet with of course, a beautiful view off the deck of our room. Great gourmet breakfast every morning. This was included in the price of the room. Coffee available in the common room every morning and just a few steps too eh dining room. We ate outdoors for all of our meals. So convenient to have dinner and breakfast. There is a pool and many other amenities for the beach goer. Worth a visit.

Our extended family (ages 24-86) spent 5 delightful and relaxing days at the Inn. The rooms were immaculate, comfortable, and the sound front view was dreamy. We enjoyed fishing, kayaking, the pool, home theater and sumptuous breakfasts—as well as the beautiful national seashore just up the road. Staff and service were wonderful. Great place to relax and recharge. Will be back.

We went on a last minute trip Booked at very short notice the smallest room in the hotel but the biggest welcome from all the staff the food was amazing the gardens and the hotel were very well cared for and the location was perfect for us We also had a family dinner for 19 Which went very well in a special events room

Excellent place to stay with great views, food and staff. The rooms are clean with excellent mattresses and plenty of pillows. Breakfast is included in your stay and it’s a full breakfast menu, try the shrimp and grits, you won’t be disappointed!

Checked in on 06/30/2024, and checked out on 07/05/2024. What first impressed me was the grounds...It is a very well-maintained place. I always saw Steve (the owner of the Inn) on the property working his tail off, and that also impressed me. Got to speak with Steve as well...Very nice man, and you can tell how passionate he is to give his customers a great experience. I stayed in the Honeysuckle Room...Very nice room with a comfortable king-sized bed, and the room was very clean. I requested housekeeping to clean the room every day of my stay, and they did a very good job. The dock was awesome! Really enjoyed spending time there and watching the sound. Cafe Pamlico was wonderful. The breakfasts every morning were great, and the dinners that I had with my family were excellent. Especially enjoyed having Dallas as our waiter. Overall, I had a great experience at both the Inn on Pamlico Sound and the Pamlico Cafe...I look forward to coming back, and I am telling my friends about it.
