Fort Knox Inn

I love staying here. The view of the Penobscot river and the bridge crossing it is gorgeous. Day or night, any time of year, this place has an amazing view. You can also see the actual Fort across the water. The staff are very friendly. The rooms are always immaculate. It has a seacoast atmosphere with lighthouse and shore line art hanging on the walls. I highly recommend staying here.

Fort Knox Inn’s handy location, thumping hot showers and pillowy soft beds were perfect for our quick trip…and you can get those pretty much everywhere. But the views!!! We knew we’d have a room with a water view, but that was an understatement. Big windows look out over the historic waterfront to the Penobscot Narrows Bridge and it’s this amazing view that sets the FKI apart. Five stars!

The rooms were extremely clean rooms. The rooms were homey. The staff was very friendly and helpful helping with getting around the area. I would stay there again. Also I would ways recommend the Fort Knox Inn . The area around the Inn was very clean.

We had a very comfortable king size bed on the 4th floor with a spectacular view of the river and the bridge. The room was clean and well laid out. All the staff were super nice and helpful. You can access the Riverwalk from the ground floor and walk to Warren’s restaurant for a great breakfast. We’re very happy we found this place. Would definitely recommend and will be back!

Very friendly and helpful staff. VERY clean and nice rooms. Beautiful view of Penobscot River and bridge. Easy access to Fort Knox, Observatory, river walk, and downtown stores and restaurants. Highly recommend and will definitely look to stay there again.

A wonderful family owned hotel. The room was large and reasonably price. The room was clean and comfortable. Location was great and within an hours drive of Acadia National park. Beautiful views of the bridge. Great walkable area for those that like to take walks right outside the hotel. Close to restaurants and cute local shops.

Family friendly hotel with a beautiful view of the Kennebec river and bridge. The beds were comfortable, the water pressure amazing, and the towels were thick. The room was adequate in size for 2 adults (2 queen beds) but our room would have been crowded with 3 people. There simply wasn't room for lots of luggage. We walked to restaurants. The front desk staff was very helpful with recommendations. If we are in the area again, we would definitely stay there.

My husband and I stayed 9/11-9/13. I chose this hotel because of the view, It was amazing. A beautiful view of the Penobscot Narrows bridge and Fort Knox yet close enought to Acadia National Park to be convenient without the hustle of Bar Harbor. We loved the little town of Bucksport. Even though this an older hotel, it was wonderfully maintained, comfortable beds with a brass style bed frame! My husband needed ADA accomodations and the website mentioned the need to call. I spoke to Patty about the limitiations but we managed fine. She told me they could provide a bath seat and it was in the tub when we got there. While there were no grab bars, we managed. The room was spacious enough for my husband to get around. I did make suggestions about some affordable ways to add grab bars in the room(I retrofited bathrooms in our home) and hope they will give it a try. Regardless, we would come back again.

Very friendly, clean and secure! Beautiful views of the Penebscot River!! Centrally located in downtown Bucksport. Walking distance to restaurants, ice cream shop, Veterans memorial. Mile long walk way along the river. If your planning to visit Bucksport this is one of the best places to stay!!
