Belvedere

An excellent place to stay when on Arran, located just behind the shore of Brodick, close to the hustle and bustle but very quiet. Had the downstairs double room with shower, spacious, comfortable, warm. The guesthouse has a dining room with two big tables, a lounge and a garden. It overlooks the harbour of Srran and is very close to a Co-op super. Breakfast was prepared by Allan and was delicious with loads of choice and nice touches like the edible flower. Allan is very friendly and always in for a natter.

A fantastic weeks stay with a group exploring Arran every day. Alan is a great host, very attentive and chatty. 2 of us were in the self catering unit which is excellent. The breakfasts are fantastic, cooked to order and very fresh. Thanks again Alan and see you next hear!

Allan ensured we were well looked after during our stay. We enjoyed a hearty Scottish breakfast each morning (each individually made to suit everyone's preference) and an opportunity to chat and find out more about the island. Rooms were clean and we had a beautiful view from ours. Would recommend to friends and family.

Just spent a delightful three nights here. The room was clean and very roomy. Lots of coffee and tea included. Our host Allan was very friendly and cooked up a very tasty hot breakfast. The guest house is close to the heart of Broderick and it was easy for us to get around in our car to tour all the sights. If you’re after a terrific guest house this is the one to choose.

What a great find. Allen is such a charming host. Nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is great. Views are tremendous. We will definitely be back and thoroughly recommend as a place for a comfortable stay on your trip to Aran. Thank you Allen. Pete and Fran Kendall

Kleines nettes B&B mit einem super Gastgeber! Allan kümmert sich um alles. Es war uns eine Ehre seine Gäste zu sein. Scotty Frühstück nach Wunsch. Wir kommen wieder. Direkt oberhalb der Hauptstraße in direkter Nähe zum Coop und Hafen sowie zu einigen Restaurants.

Limited off-road parking, but I never had any problems parking on Alma Road. Allan not around when I arrived, but the check-in arrangements worked fine. Room 5, single: the private facilities (washbasin, toilet, bath, shower) are all next door. The room itself had tea/coffee facilities, and plenty of storage space. TV signal was sometimes intermittent; not the first time I've experienced this in Scotland. (There was also a shared guest lounge.) I like to use the laptop a *lot* on holiday (processing the day's photos, writing a diary); no desk in the room, but by moving the hospitality tray, I could work OK. Breakfast is the kind you pre-order (what you want, when you want it, presumably to cut down waste. A good choice of breakfasts, including vegetarian options, and Allan is a chatty host at breakfast time. There are also three lively small dogs; Allan did ask 'are you OK with them?' Payment on departure. I'm unlikely to come back to Arran, having seen what I want to see, but if I did, I'd be happy to come back here.

A great 4 night stay on beautiful Arran. The Belvedere was fantastic & Allan was a superb host. His advice on places to visit, walks, restaurants & pubs etc was really helpful, & his breakfasts were excellent. The Belvedere is centrally located in Brodick & is no more than a 5-10 minute walk from all the amenities. It is spotlessly clean & tidy, & the breakfasts are to die for! There are also three very friendly four legged furry little people who like to come & greet you before you get off on your daily travels! We couldnt recomend this place highly enough, & will definitely be going back again.

A lovely week at the Belvedere with host Allan. Exceptional hospitality, a 10 min walk from the ferry with many restaurants, shops, bus stops and beach walks at your fingertips. The room was warm and comfortable, the breakfast taste amazing with healthy portions. Allan is attentive yet unobtrusive. I felt right at home. My room had a lovely seating area with view of ocean, in addition there is access to living room with games, books and tv. Will be returning in the spring.
