Cbh Morritt Hotel and Spa

Large room in converted cottage at side of main hotel. Nice bathroom with roll top bath and separate shower which was excellent. Room very large and could have had more furniture, wardrobe, chest, settee etc. Meal in bar was great and also breakfast. Staff were all first rate and friendly.

Me and my boyfriend recently stayed here for an Anniversary/Christmas present! Our package included Spa Access, dinner, bed and breakfast with £30pp dinner allowance included. Spa was relaxing and quiet. Only having a limited amount of people in the spa at once really made the atmosphere. Only problem we noticed was the steam room did not heat up as it should, think was looked into during our time. We checked into our room afterwards which was Room 1. Very clean and love the windows looking out over the garden which was lovely to watch the sunrise on the morning and bathroom was mordern too! Only noise we heard was the people next door arriving back in their room late and the door banging and also breakfast room in the morning but didn’t bother us at all. We booked a table in the Dickens bar for tea which was very quiet and the fire was lovely to sit by. We had burger and the pie. Food was nice but had better and had worse before for sure. Man on the bar (can’t remember name!) was very polite and efficient. Breakfast was okay, portions could have been bigger. Only half a black pudding and a small sausage. Good meat, cheese and yogurt selection which you help yourself too. Overall we had a lovely stay and would return!

The room was fine, old fashioned but worked for us to lay our head when we got back. We had an issue with keys (we accidentally left it in the room as we left and didn’t realise, so this then involved them trying about 100 keys in the lock to get in and then waking up the owner of the hotel and us being told “a very angry man is going to come in a minute to sort this out”, which made me feel very uncomfortable. it took almost an hour to sort out, which was a nightmare, and once we finally got to bed, we could hear the goings on in the next room until the very early hours of the next morning so barely slept. I probably wouldn’t stay again!

Lovely quiet place and great food .

Comfortable warm room,also,serves very good food morning and night..2 night stay through work,friendly staff..what not to like.would definitely return..breakfast perfectly cooked with lovely local produce I’d imagine,limited bar evening menu but enough choice for my short stay..

We stayed dinner (£30 each supplement) bed & breakfast with 3 hours use of the spa, & couldn’t fault it. The highlight was definitely staying in the platinum suite room, was so spacious & a really lovely room. Dinner was lovely, the soufflés and beef brisket are highly recommended! We used the bar twice and on both occasions the bar staff were friendly & welcoming…we had two excellent espresso martinis. Breakfast was a mix of continental & hot food to order. Not a huge amount of continental choice but the hot breakfast was very nice & the waitress serving us was very friendly. Had a lovely relaxing time in the spa…not too busy at all, which we loved. Marked down by a star as steam room wasn’t working in spa & would have been nice to have had some background music in the room when eating dinner (was playing at breakfast so unsure why not at dinner?) All in all a great value stay in a lovely relaxing hotel.
