I recently stayed at Premier Inn and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Upon arrival, I found the room freezing cold, and to make matters worse, the shower water was incredibly cold. It was only after we checked in that I was informed by the staff that there was ongoing maintenance affecting the water supply, which I had not been notified of before or during check-in. When I mentioned the cold room and malfunctioning air conditioning, the staff member at reception was dismissive and simply told me that they couldn't do anything because of the maintenance. There was no apology or attempt to rectify the situation, despite my concerns. The only suggestion made was that they could "fix the aircon from the office," but it never happened. As a result, I had to go out of my way to purchase a portable heater from a nearby shop to warm up the room, and even with that, it never got comfortable. The water situation was even worse – I couldn't have a hot shower at all and had to boil the kettle multiple times just to warm up a bath of cold water. Given the circumstances, I felt that the hotel staff didn't handle this situation properly, and I am left disappointed with the lack of communication and urgency. I feel that some form of compensation is warranted, but so far, there has been no offer of goodwill or apology from the team. Sadly, this stay did not meet the expectations I had for Premier Inn, and I would think twice before booking again.
