Highland Lake Resort

My two boys and I stayed here in July 2023 for two nights. My husband and I used to live in Bridgton and it’s always been a very special place to us so I was excited to introduce my sons to the area. We stayed in a double room which was adequate. The room itself was tiny but clean. Same for the bathroom. Positively minuscule but clean. The location is great- right on the lake and they have free canoes and kayaks for guests to use. They also have fire pits scattered around the property which are great for evening s’mores. I would rate our stay a 4 with no problem. Fast forward to this year. We had a one night reservation that I had to cancel one week before our reservation. I sent an apologetic email and received a very curt reply reminding me of their cancellation penalty. Two days later I received a follow up email from Riley offering an apology for the cold email sent by the other employee. Thanks to Riley I will say that this is not a bad hotel. BUT I won’t be staying there next year or any other year. My fault really for misreading and thinking it was a $25 cancellation fee. Instead it was 50% of the reservation including 50% of the tax. Which I’m pretty sure they aren’t paying if no one stays in the room. If you choose to book here be very sure of your dates!

Cute little family motel that makes the most of it’s lakefront site. We stayed for 3 days recently. This motel is on a large hillside on a lake. Has tons of boats, water toys, fishing rods, swings, hammock, 2 swimming docks. If you want to chill at a lake this is great option. Simple, clean. Tons of outdoor space. The bathroom was not great, older, simple, dated. It had the smallest vanity and sink I’ve used since we stayed on a train, with four people, it was not pleasant. Like an airplane sink, really. Towels were cleaned but some had stains. The bedding was clean. It was simply a motel room with a large fridge and a microwave. The Himalayan salt lamp was cute, and dimmed nicely. There are a lot of religious/ spiritual overtones in artwork, books, and sign and such at the resort. Generically advising you to be mindful and such. The mural on the fence has an inclusive vibe. I loved that they set the door lock to a code, and had us check in over the phone. Very convenient. They are making the most of the properly, but really badly need new bathroom vanities.

We always stayed at highland lakes and loved it BUT they recently purchased the motel next to them. The Amore on the lake where we just stayed. Place is OLD. Small and nothing like highland lake resort Water for showers luke warm. . Shower it self was a joke. Thin plastic sheeting with all pipes exposed. By time finished with a short shower your standing in in 3 inches of water The grounds are no where near as nice as Their place next door Prices are the same If you go stay at Highland lake NOT this place Everything about this place was old Especially the curtains on the windows they kept out NO sunlight at all. Got us up at the crack of dawn

Stayed a couple nights while attending a photography class in the area. Didn’t really have time to enjoy all the amenities of the lake side resort. There are two saunas near the gym. One is a small traditional Finnish/Swedish sauna and the other infrared. I used the infrared one. Very relaxing. There’s a shower to rinse off. My room was on the backside and very quiet. Room was roomy with two double/queen beds, mini fridge and microwave, tub and bathtub combo. There are chairs right outside the door which are nice to sit and enjoy the view of the property.

I lived in Bridgton for several years. We were back visiting friends. I've stayed here before and it's changed quite a bit. First thing my wife noticed was 2 wet and used wash cloths in the bathroom. The floors seemed to be covered in sand or grit. We had to wipe our feet off before climbing into bed. Paper thin walls let us hear our neighbors cell phone conversations. On a positive note, the location on Highland Lake was great. Close to town.

We had a relaxing time at Highland Lake Resort last week.The lake was really clean and the temperature of the water was perfect.The first day there we took out kayaks for a ittle journey nearby on the calm lake,the second day it was breezy and overcast so we used the sauna and steam room for a bit.My sister in law used the weight room in the morning for a little workout on the second day too.Everything was clean and well maintained and lots of towels.A family staying there had requested some entertainment and a couple played some classic tunes from the 70'S 80'S AND 90'S out in front of our room for a couple of hours. The Nectar next to the office had smoothies,coffee,muffins, salads,and vegan sandwiches from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. There are chairs and a hammock down by the lake in the trees to enjoy and two docks one for boats and the other for swimmers,
