Best Western Heronston Hotel Spa

Stayed over Christmas as a family with a dog. What a lovely stay, from Ryan checking us in to the great rooms we stayed in. Really friendly staff (didn't get everyone's names unfortunately) and we loved the pool. Definitely will go back!

Staff at check in were great and recognised us from previous visits which was nice. We were allocated a double though despite our package stating twin. This was sorted for us although it did take two requests which is unusual here I must admit. Rooms were tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. We didn't experience any noise and the room was a constant good temperature. Tea/coffee facilities available. Spa treatments as always were excellent and the pool area was clean and relaxing. There is access to a sauna and steam room which we didn't use on this occasion. The jacuzzi was still out of order and I suspect it will remain like that. Evening meal was served in the bar as it was Sunday. My preference would have been the restaurant but at least we had the same menu. Some good options were on the Table D'hote but on this occasion the food wasn't as good as we've had previously had here - chips were luke warm and the vegetarian lasagne just wasn't what was expected. Drinks were great and competitively priced. Breakfast was in the restaurant area and it was nice to see that the hot breakfasts were made to order. There were buffet items such as tea, coffee, juice, toast, pancakes, cereal, yoghurt, fruit etc which were available to guests in addition to the cooked breakfast. Overall we had a lovely relaxing stay so will definitely return. The only reason I've not given 5 stars is the evening food - it could have been better.

Very helpful staff, very nice food very welcoming. However, I found the bed uncomfortable and was going to stay two nights but instead only stayed one . I’d been upgraded to a very nice room spacious with a king size bed. However, I had to move because the bed was really uncomfortable And the second room was better but still unfortunately the bed was not comfortable enough. It’s very difficult. I know everyone’s body is different. I would however suggest to the management that they do an audit of the beds because it felt worn and probably needs replacing. a shame such an important part of the STAY. and everything else was first Class.
